When you jump intoPalworld, there is so much to discover. However, before you journey too far, there are a few things you can do toensure your survival. This includes gathering materials needed to craft items such as shelter, armor, and more.
Palworld: How To Ride Pals
Having a mount in Palworld means riding on one of your Pals. We’ll tell you everything you need to know so you’re able to explore the world on your Pal.
Aside from the other obvious mission, catchingyour starter Paland a few others, it’s also important that you set up a base. This base will be key to your survivalas you may store your valuables, farm essentials, and have a safe place for your Pals.

Setting Up A Base
One of the mostimportant things you will need to craftwhen setting up your base is the Palbox. The Palbox will be used to officially establish your base. It can be crafted at level 2 and is a facility used to store the Pals you capture. You can also use the Palbox tofast travel, assign Pals to work on your base, and recover Pals who have been downed in battle. To craft the Palbox, you will need the following materials:
Make sure you’re in an ideal location for your playstyle, then craft the Palbox where you would like to set up your base. Once crafted, you will see a blue perimeter signifying your base zone. You can then build anything else within this zone. While you won’t receive an error when building outside the zone, whatever is built out of theperimeter may not be protectedby the Pals assigned at your base.

Using the Palbox, you can also upgrade your base. You will see the requirements for the upgrade and once you complete these, your base can be upgraded. Continue to upgrade, so you can unlock the ability tocreate more bases. Don’t forget to add the statue of power, so you canutilize the Pal Soulsand upgrade your Pals as well as your stats.
Palworld: How To Get Ore
In Palworld, Ore is critical for some of your more complex builds and recipes. This guide breaks down the ways to get ore and where to farm it.
Assigning Pals At Base
If you open up the Palbox, you can hover over any Pal to get more information about it, and you will see a few more details to the right of the menu. You can also open up a more detailed menu about that specific Pal. This menu willshow you their stats, food bar, work suitability, active skills, passive skills, and partner skill.
Compare their work suitability with what you need done at your base (whether it’swatering crops, mining, lumbering, etc.) and assign the Pals accordingly. Don’t forget to build some chests for the Pals to store any materials they harvest. you may even harvest drops from the Pals once you build a ranch. Sometimes the Pals will get distracted or stuck in place. If this happens, simply remove them from being active on the base, then put them back and that should reset them.

Keep track of your Pals well-being because even though they can take care of themselves for the most part, you will still need to help them if they havea depressed status, sick status, or have adecreased sanitywhich you will need to tend to. Make sure you have anequal number of Pal bedsto the amount of Pals assigned to your base as it can effect their well-being as well. Their well-being can also be seen in the right corner of your screen under “base info”.
Whatever Pals you choose to work at the base will also defend the perimeter. If a threat occurs to your base, the Pals will become defensive and attack whatever threat is at the base. This means that you should not only take into consideration the work suitability skills each Pal has but also the power behind their attack, so you havegood defensive measures.

Building A House
At level 2 in your technology menu, you can alsounlock the Wooden Structure Set. This will give you the ability to build houses and other structures. Luckily, most of the wooden structures are pretty cheap and need only 2 pieces of wood. In your build menu, you will find these structures under the “Foundations” tab.
You will need to put down a foundation first before building the walls. Ensure that you’re not on a slope because it will either glow red not allowing you to build or it will glitch into the ground a bit. You’ll have the option tobuild one at a time or build continuously, so you don’t have to open the menu every time you put a piece down.

Decide how big of a structure you want and keep in mind that you can always add on to it as you progress. Don’t forget toadd a fire to your basewhich will help with warmth and cooking. This is especially crucial in harsh climates such as the Snowy Mountains when temperatures go below freezing at night.
Don’t build your house too close to the perimeter, so you can add on without going over the perimeter as you progress.
Setting Up Food Source
A food source is very important to not only you but also your Pals. By level 5 you should be able to unlock the berry garden located under the Food tab. Assign the appropriate Pals to gather and water the berries, and they will do the harvesting for you. Don’t forget to have a Feed Box, so the Pals can justdeposit the food there and eatas needed. You can also take what you need from the Feed Box when you need to eat.
