Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionseason 2 has been confirmed and is under development. After the vastly popular season 1, Netflix did not wait long to announce that the live-action Strawhats were coming back with their adventure of Grand Line. As of now, there have been several announcements regarding season 2, and each one of them has increased the excitement of the fans.

One Piece Live Actionbroke Netflix’s curse with live adaptation projects and has paved the way for upcoming anime live adaptation projects likeNarutoandYu Yu Hakusho. Among the new characters that are going to be introduced in season 2, Portgas D. Ace is going to be the most popular one. Fans believe that there is a certain actor who could be the perfect Ace to Iñaki Godoy’s Monkey D. Luffy.
Xolo Maridueña Will Be The Perfect Portgas D. Ace
Portgas D. Ace made his manga and anime debut during the Alabasta arc. Even though it was just for a few episodes, he soon became a fan-favorite character. He was the perfect elder brother to Monkey D. Luffy. At the pace at which Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionis progressing, season 2 might feature the first half of the Alabasta arc. It means that it could introduce Ace.

But there has been no confirmation from Netflix or the executives on which actor they have cast as Portgas D. Ace. The fans believe Xolo Maridueña could be the perfect Ace inOne Piece Live Action. Xolo Maridueña has a great portfolio of being a regular actor in Cobra Kai and played the role of the main protagonist in DCU’s Blue Beetle movie.
Another reason for him to be a great Ace is because Xolo Maridueña and Iñaki Godoy are both Latin American. It could be a valuable connection for their background. Portgas D. Ace and Monkey D. Luffy have an age difference of 2 years, andXolo Maridueñaand Iñaki Godoy have the same age difference. Ace, being the Second Commander in the Whitebeard Pirates, is great in physical combat, and nothing could be better than a Cobra Kai star taking up that role.

It is still not clear whether Portgas D. Ace will be making an appearance in theOne Piece Live Actionseason 2 or not. Even if he makes an appearance it is not clear who will be cast. But taking looks and portfolio into account, no one comes close to Xolo Maridueña. He being Latin America, which is the same as Luffy’s actor, could play a major role in showing that they are brothers.

His hairstyle also matches Ace’s hairstyle. Ace’s debut will be much later, but before that, Tony Tony Chopper will make his debut. TheOne Piecefandom is also excited with the Strawhats’ doctor. Apart from Luffy’s close ones, Captain Smoker will also be making his debut. He will be his arch-nemesis. Taking the performance of season 1, people expect great things from season 2. It will be interesting to see how things play out after the introduction of all these interesting characters.
