In all honesty, the series is slept on as this user pointed out.

I think black clover is slept on way too much. It is one of my favorite new gen for a reason. The characters are actually focused on and improve unlike some of the animes in the big 3

Black Clover isn’t a run-of-the-mill Shonen anime despite its influences
Despite the unfair criticism, Black Clover excels as a Shonen anime. From its storytelling to its well-written characters, the series sets itself apart in the genre. Furthermore, itswell-written female charactersmake it different and superior to most Shonen anime.
Apart from that, Asta and Yuno’s rivalry in the series is healthy. While both characters are foster brothers, their zeal and passion towards their goal aren’t outweighed by their relationship with each other. Moreover, the well-paced plot and theoutlining of side charactersmake the series exceptional and remarkable in every way.
