The beginning of the finale saga inOne Piecewas marked by the Egghead arc which not only revealed some interesting things about the events of the series but also featured a lot of fight scenes that were anticipated by the fans for a long time. One such fight was between the newly appointed Yonko of the Sea, Monkey D. Luffy, and Navy Admiral Kizaru.
This fight has been expected by the fans since the Sabaody Archipelago arc where Kizaru destroyed the Straw Hat Pirates. As Luffy trained rigorously and grew a lot during the time skip, fans expected the next battle between Luffy and Kizaru to be much more exciting than the previous one.
However, that was not the case. When Luffy and Kizaru fought in the Egghead arc, fans were quite disappointed by the battle as it did not go as expected and ended too early. The only thing that maybe made it exciting was it showed the scary power of Luffy in his Gear 5 form.

Gear 5 Luffy vs Kizaru Was Disappointing
When Kizaru was brought into the Egghead arc, everyOne Piecefan thought that he will be the ultimate antagonist and Luffy and the crew will have to defeat him to move on. Fans thought that Kizaru and Luffy would have a great battle that would decide the next step of the story but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
When Luffy and Kizaru engaged in a battle, Luffy defeated Kizaru quite easily and that too in only four chapters. Although he faced some difficulties with Gear 4, as soon as he entered Gear 5, it didn’t take him much time to beat Kizaru. Luffy used his move Gum-Gum Star gun to defeat Kizaru which is not even his ultimate technique.
The fight only lasted for about four chapters as later on Saturn was introduced in the story and was categorized as the final villain of Egghead. This made the fight between Luffy and Kizaru very disappointing and was not at all appreciated by the fans. But it did give fans a glimpse of Luffy’s power level against an Admiral, thus proving his strength.

Luffy vs Kizaru Showed Luffy’s Enormous Power Level
While Gear 5 Luffy and Kizaru were disappointing, it did give fans an understanding of what can be expected from Luffy in his final form. As Luffy gained the title of Emperor of the Sea, he was expected to beat Kizaru, but to defeat him so easily showed the level at which Luffy had reached after fighting Kaido.
Luffy was not only able to reach Kizaru’s speed who is the fastest Navy official, but he also didn’t have to go full power against the Admiral. This is reflected in the fact that Luffy did not feel the need to use his final move Gum Gum Bajrang Gun against someone as strong as Admiral Kizaru.

While fans expected a better fight scene between Kizaru and Luffy, Luffy’s display of power was quite satisfying for the fans to see. Also, the recent chapters ofOne Piecehave shown that both Luffy and Kizaru are back in action, thus marking a potential second round between the Admiral and the Yonko ofOne Piece.
