One Pieceis based on Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to becoming the Pirate King. Throughout his journey, he has faced several adversaries and successfully overcame them. He also made several friends and has a loyal crew behind him. Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus has been running successfully for more than 25 years and is still one of the most popular anime of all.
Even though Monkey D. Luffy faces several adversaries, there are a few of his fights that have the fans confused. Lack of answers in certain situations confused. One such confusion arose during the Alabasta arc when Luffy defeated Sir Crocodile after failing to do it multiple times. The reason for the confusion is a massive plot hole regarding the introduction of Haki.
Sir Crocodile Did Not Use Haki While Fighting Luffy
Sir Crocodile was the main antagonist of the Alabasta arc. He was one of the Seven Warlords during that time. Throughout Monkey D. Luffy’s journey, there are a few times when he comes close to facing death. One of them was during his fight with Crocodile. Initially, everyone felt it was a great fight. But a few hundred episodes later, people began to question the fight and found out one of the biggest plot holes in One Piece.
Much later, after the Alabasta arc, Haki was introduced in One Piece. Haki is the manifestation of one’s Will.Sir Crocodilebeing one of the Seven Warlords and traveled through the Grand Line, it was natural for him to get accustomed to using Haki. He was shown to use it down the line. So, fans asked why Crocodile did not use Haki against Luffy. If he used it, there was no way Luffy could have defeated him since Haki is the only power that can triumph over theDevil Fruits.
Crocodile not using Haki is one of the biggest plot holes in Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus. The concept of Haki was introduced later, but Haki was introduced in the first episode when Shanks used Conqueror’s Haki against the sea monster. Crocodile forgetting to use Haki in the heat of the battle seems to be not very plausible. It is the only fight that will remain hard to explain even after 1000+ episodes.
Sir Crocodile Is A Member Of A Yonko Group InOne Piece
To become a Warlord, the Pirates have to be strong enough to prove their usefulness to the government. Moreover, venturing into the New World without Haki is impossible. Sir Crocodile did all that, which inclines towards the fact that he can use Haki. But for some unknown reason, he did not use it against Luffy and was left on the verge of death. He was even imprisoned in Impel Down.
Down the line, Crocodile became a member of a Yonko group led by Buggy. Eiichiro Oda might attempt to do justice to the character by giving him everything, but it still does not change the fact that he was defeated by the weakest form of Luffy. Luffy did not even know how to use Gear Second. The crocodile, being a sand human was defeated by liquid (in this case, Luffy’s blood).
Crocodile joining the cross guild proves he is one of the strongest pirates in New World. There is always a ‘but’ at the end.Eiichiro Odais a genius and could do some magic to fulfill the plot hole. But as it stands, after hundreds of episodes, it is the only place that Oda sensei failed to sparkle the magic dust.
