Times are changing and not everything that worked in the past will work today. The gaming community would not stop trolling the developers from reusing an outdated idea.
The new armor sets are a much more viable option for a wardrobe change and each of these pieces feature unique benefits and perks, not just aesthetics. Kratos can now take advantage of these perks while looking good.

Santa Monica Studio had fun years ago and decided to up its game with character design and delivered big time. Perhaps future entries will have unique and relevant cosmetic options.
