At CES today,NVIDIAconfirmed the heavily rumored RTX 4070 TI is indeed real and coming very soon. That’s not to mention a price point far more palatable than what the company’s flagship RTX 4090 is currently going for.

Fans may be asking when the base 4070 launched, and the answer is, it isn’t a thing just yet. In fall of last year, NVIDIA launchedthe 4080 12GB versionbefore swiftly pulling it from sale, with the card maker stating that it wasn’t named quite right. Now just a few months later, the 4080 12GB has been renamed as the 4070 TI with identical specs.

As initially reported byPC Gamer, and now verified via NVIDIA during its CESstream on YouTube, the RTX 4070 TI will arrive on January 5 with an MSRP of $799,which matches predictions made recentlyregarding its price point. At the time of this writing, NVIDIA’s site has not yet been updated, but the specs have already been confirmed via its former incarnation.

For the techies out there, the RTX 4070 TI boasts the same 12GB GDDR6X as its previous configuration as well as 7,680 CUDA cores, a base speed of 2.31 GHz, and DLSS 3 opening the card up toa sizable list of gamesthat support it. NVIDIA claims this puts it leagues above the RTX 3090 TI in terms of performance, with its specs placing it near the middle of the company’s current video card offerings. For players looking to pick one on release, only manufacturing partners will be selling these units as no plans for a founder’s edition were mentioned.

In addition to this new reveal, laptops with RTX 40 series cards were also announced to be coming in February from various vendors. The offerings include laptops with the yet-to-be-released RTX 4050, 4060, and non-TI version 4070 cards with a starting price of $999. On the other end of the spectrum, the power-hungry 4080 and 4090 cards have found their way into a smaller form factor with a starting price of $1999. Both tiers of laptops boast faster video rendering and export speeds, as well as various other performance bumps which may attract some gamers who are apprehensive about purchasing due to price.
