Throughout the year, online retailer Amazon keeps an updated list of their top-selling products by category.
Arguably. the category that gets the most attention is that which contains the site’s best-selling video games of the year, and this year’s list is likely to be no different, especially as it follows a similar trend to 2020.

What Happened in 2020?
2020’s list of Amazon’s best selling titles wasdominated by Nintendo.
Unsurprisingly, the mega-hit that isAnimal Crossing: New Horizonstopped it and Nintendo managed to claim eight out of the top 10 spots, with only the PS4 version ofCyberpunk 2077andThe Last of Us Part IIcurtailing the Japanese company’s dominance.
You can check out the full list from last year below:
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Physical)2. Super Mario 3D All-Stars3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate5. Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Digital)6. Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4)7. Ring Fit Adventure8. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity9. The Last of Us Part II10. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
How is 2021’s Amazon Best Sellers List Looking?
Barring any huge (and unlikely) changes over the next couple of days, Nintendo has once again ruled the roost of Amazon’s best sellers list, dominating even more this time out.
Having almost a year to sell,Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Furytopped the list withPokemon Brilliant Diamond,The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword,Mario Party SuperstarsandMetroid Dread, the other new games to make an appearance in the top 10.
Of the “older” games,Animal Crossing: New Horizonscontinued to impress coming in third place overall and unsurprisingly, several other Nintendo Switch stalwarts, includingMario Kart 8 DeluxeandSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatemade the cut.
What’s most surprising is that you have to reach 20th place on the list before hitting a non-Nintendo title, the PS4 version ofNBA 2K22.
In a year with the likes ofRatchet and Clank,Resident Evil VillageandDeathloop,it starts to become clear that the shift to digital is a very real thing on other platforms.
