Some fans have been begging for a new game in the classic dinosaur-hunting franchiseTurokfor years at this point only for their requests to have seemingly fallen on deaf ears. Well, out of basically nowhere, Universal has now unveiled an all-newTurokgame that is releasing in mere days from now.

As seen over on Steam,Turok: Escape from Lost Valleyis the name of this new game in the long-running franchise. The only problem is that it looksnothinglike you’d probably expect it to. Rather than being a gritty, dinosaur-fighting first-person shooter,Turok: Escape from Lost Valleyboasts a chibi art style and is presented in a top-down perspective. And even though it’s different, it actually looks pretty cute.

Here’s a description of the game directly from its Steam page:

InTurok: Escape from Lost Valley, you wake from a long sleep as Turok and adventure alongside Andar through the dangerous world of the Lost Valley as you seek to find a path home. Encounter iconic creatures from the Turok comic series with a cute but dangerous twist. Master the art of the knife and the bow as you encounter adorable but deadly enemies, discover a path through unique environments, and choose the best weapon for the enemy in front of you. Live the adventure! Confront your foes, assist primordial natives, and keep Andar and yourself alive as you Escape from Lost Valley!

Turok: Escape from Lost Valley’sdeveloper Pillow Pig Games apparently won a contest last year that was put on by Universal, the owner of theTurokIP. Smaller game developers were tasked with creating a new game based on properties that Universal owns. While Pillow Pig’s new take onTurokdidn’t end up winning first place honors, the game will still see the light of day.

As of now,Turok: Escape from Lost Valleyis only planned to arrive on PC and will launch in just a few short weeks on July 25, 2025. If you’d like to see the game in action, you may check out the reveal trailer down below or head over to itsofficial Steam page.
