A classicDungeons & Dragonsgame is finally returning, as a leak has confirmed that Neverwinter Nights 2 is receiving a remaster.
Most of the classic PC D&D games have received remasters and console ports. These include the first twoBaldur’s Gategames,Planescape Torment,Icewind Dale, and the original Neverwinter Nights.

Wizards of the Coast has revealed new D&D subclasses based on the Forgotten Realms campaign setting.
There are still a few holdouts from theclassic CRPG erathat can’t be played on modern systems, one of which is Neverwinter Nights 2. Despite being highly regarded in its time, the only way to play it nowadays is via an ancient GoG port.
It seems that whatever issues were holding back Neverwinter Nights 2 have finally been resolved. According to a leak onSteamdb(discovered by the GamingLeaksAndRumours Reddit), Neverwinter Nights 2is being remastered.
Neverwinter Nights 2 Remaster Has Leaked On Steam
According to the leak, the Neverwinter Nights 2 remaster is called “Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition.” The game was developed by Aspyr and it’s already ready torun on Steam Deck.
Chances are, the remaster will also come to consoles, considering the other classic D&D modern ports have done so in the past.
Baldur’s Gate 3fans should definitely check out Neverwinter Nights 2. The game uses the older third edition D&D rules, while Baldur’s Gate 3 uses thefifth edition rules, but they’re both similar enough that it should be easy to pick up.

Chances are, Neverwinter Nights 2 will feature the multiple DLC expansions the base game received, including the sequel to the main story campaign. If so, the collection will feature hundreds of hours of fantasy action, which any D&D fan shouldn’t miss.
