She argued that, unlike stereotypical female characters, Penny is not portrayed as a“raging s*xpot,”which she believed could alienate both male and female viewers. She said during the interview,

And my character is not the raging s*xpot who women don’t want to watch and men are bothered by. She’s not obnoxious and the characters are all so lovable.
