Marvel Rivalsreleased just last month and took the gaming community by storm. Reed Richards, known more commonly as Mr Fantastic, is one of the characters you can play.

Gamers noticed a peculiar skill of Mr Fantastic that hasn’t been showcased often other than in the comics, causing people to compare him to Luffy. The move looks awfully like Gear 4: Bounce Man inOne Piece, first shown in the Dressrosa Arc. Now fans are wondering who would win in a fight.
The most recent portrayal of Mr Fantastic on the big screen was inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, played by John Krasinski. The actor has always been a fan-favorite choice for the superhero, but the MCU film utilized him poorly.

The version of him depicted in the movie is rather stupid compared to the real Reed Richards we know and love. Krasinski’s version was also unfortunately the first impression many had of the hero, prompting fans to choose Luffy fromOne Pieceas the winner. Is that necessarily true though?
Reed Richards is canonically the smartest character in the Marvel Comics, rivaled only by a few
Despite the writing ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessand how it portrayed Mr Fantastic, it’s not the only version of him that exists. Some versions of the superhero might be arrogant and desperate enough against the Scarlet Witch’s powers to make a mistake. However, it’s definitely not the only way Reed Richards operates.
Many portrayals of him exist in the form of comics, films, andnow even video games. In many of those, he’s the smartest man alive. He’s singlehandedly outsmarted and won several fights against all odds, thanks to his intelligence. The man had four college degrees by the age of 18!

“Reed Richard’s basically unlocked Gear 4 but without the Haki”: Marvel Rivals Devs Accused of Copying Luffy’s Powers to Make Mr Fantastic
Considering this, the debate about who wins betweenMonkey D. Luffyand Mr Fantastic is almost laughable. Fans point this out on X.
Who wins this one?Luffy 🆚 Reed Richardspic.twitter.com/Ru6iHeoZEl

Is brute force vs brains at that point , multiverse of madness make him look dumb tbh 😭
That’s a version of reed, like a coward spiderman, everything can exist, but if you want to put a fight between main luffy vs main reed or ultimate reed, the first one could loose

That’s a very poorly written movie that uses the character as a 5 minutes cameo, I wouldnt even take that as an example of anything
Luffy is undoubtedly a quick learner, despite his smooth brain. He could win against Reed Richards through sheer brute force and will. However, the Marvel superhero will outwit him at every chance, and he’d probably catch onto his fighting patterns and use them against him.
Therefore, sorry,One Piecefans; it might just be Mr Fantastic’s fight to win.
Are fans forgetting John Krasinski’s 5-minute version isn’t the only Mr Fantastic to exist?
Before theDoctor Strangesequel, we had the 2005Fantastic Four, with Ioan Gruffrudd playing the superhero. The reboot version in 2015 had Miles Teller play him. Unfortunately, both versions of him failed but they were smarter than Krasinski’s.
For theMarvel Cinematic Universe (MCU),Pedro Pascalwill playMr Fantastic inThe Fantastic Four: First Steps. The actor needs no introduction with how he took the internet by storm with his portrayal ofJoel Miller in HBO’s TV adaptation ofThe Last of Us.
Insufferable One Piece Fans Claiming Marvel Rivals’ Mister Fantastic Copied Eiichiro Oda Will Never Accept the One Fact That Debunks It
In the end, John Krasinski’s Mr Fantastic isn’t the last or first version of the superhero, whereas Luffy exists only in one universe. The smartest man alive would certainly win, but the young pirate would give him a tough time.
One Pieceis available on Crunchyroll andDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessis available on Disney+ Hotstar.
