Ever since Xbox released its first-party titles on PlayStation, there have been speculations that more games will follow suit, and one of those is said to be Bethesda’sStarfield. However, Microsoft gaming head Phil Spencer denied the claims, saying that the game will remain exclusively on Xbox.

Despite the quashed claim by Phil Spencer, more and more rumors have pointed in the opposite direction, and new evidence has now surfaced that suggests that the rumors may have been true after all, and it is only a matter of time beforeStarfieldends up on PS5.
Is Starfield Coming to PlayStation?
It was rumored thatStarfieldwill launch on PS5 with theShattered Spaceexpansion of the game, which is scheduled to release sometime this year. But then Spencer confirmed that there is no move planned for PS5. TheLinkedIn profileof an employee has now been spotted who worked at ZeniMax Online Studios and suggests that the game may be coming to PS5 in the future.

The profile in question is of Ryan Ruzich, who worked at Zenimax as a senior gameplay programmer from 2015 until his departure in November 2022. One of his responsibilities included working on a new engine for an unannounced project and“leading the effort to get the new engine working on third-party consoles.”

Bethesda was previously owned by ZeniMax Online Studios, which is now a subsidiary of Microsoft Gaming after the acquisition in 2020. This could mean that the unannounced game in question wasStarfield, as the development of the game started in 2015 itself, and it was always planned to port the game to PS5 sometime in the future.

However, as much as the game may beStarfield, there are also chances that it is another IP that may be in development for other platforms and not just Microsoft’s console. There are more things mentioned in Ruzich’s profile that hint at the unannounced game being an entirely new IP.
The ‘Unannounced Title’ May Also Be a New IP
Ryan Ruzich’s profile also mentions that he worked on portingElder Scrolls Onlinefor Google Stadia and Linux and also took care of some other elements of the game, such as gameplay, new features, and bugs. It is important to know that ZeniMax Online Studios is behind the titles, and it is possible that the unannounced title may be a newElder Scrolls Onlinetitle.

Additionally, he has also worked on developing several features forElder Scrolls Onlinesince theImperial Cityupdate. ZeniMax also focuses on multiplayer titles, and it is possible that the game may be a live-service title.
Given that Microsoft just launchedSea of Thieveson PS5, the game may be aiming for a launch on the rival platform as well. Players are also thinking that if ZeniMax is working on an MMO, it makes sense for the developer to take it to other platforms, and they also speculate that it will be available on as many platforms as possible.
