Rathian takes flight and swings his tail directly in front of him two or three times. This attack poisons the player.
Dodge to the side or use aFlash Podto bring Rathian to the ground.
Fire Breath
Rathian lowers his head and shoots a beam of fire straight ahead.
Dodge to the side and then rush in to the side of his head to deal damage.
Charge Attack
Rathian rushes back and forth, dealing damage to anyone in his path.
Run away to gain distance and then rush in after the third charge. Rathian will take a breather due to tiredness, allowing you to get free attacks in.
The only way Rathiancan inflict poison on a player is through its tail.Whenever Rathian takes flight, he’s about to do a swing of his tail directly ahead two or three times.
If this tail hits you, you’ll be infected with poison, so ensure to dodge to the side. If he does hit you, make sure to useAntidoteas quickly as possible.
Next, we have Rathian’s fire breath attack. Whenever Rathian puts his wings back while on the ground and lowers his head, he’s about toshoot a beam of fire directly ahead.
This can be avoided by dodging to the side, out of the monster’s line of sight. This is also a great opportunity to rush in and get free hits on the side of Rathian’s head.

Rathian’s third-deadliest attack is when herushes forward towardyou and the rest of the hunters on the field. He doesn’t just do this once, butthree times, back and forth.
Stay on your toes and run away from Rathian when it charges to avoid taking a ton of damage. After the third charge, Rathian will take a breather, allowing you to attack.
If you manage to dodge these three attack patterns, defeating Rathian inMonster Hunter Wildsis a cakewalk and all about finding the openings to attack. Remember to target his wounds whenever they’re exposed to get him stunned and to break body parts.
