A Demo that respects your time and effort. Finally!
One of these will take you to the Abandoned Tomb, but we want to focus on the one that takes you to the Man-Eater’s Grotto. This is a dangerous area filled with Rockworms, but if you follow this guide, we will get you through relatively unscathed.

How To Prepare For The Man-Eater In The Mine
The Man-Eater’s Grotto can be a pretty unforgiving place if you aren’t careful, as some tough enemies are hidden in this labyrinthian cave. However, if you take the following precautions, you’ll be in the best position to weather the storm:
Navigating The Man-Eater’s Grotto
Assuming you stopped in Komero and made your way to Dunegon, we will begin from the entrance. Here, you will immediately run into a few fodder Rockworms, and a Gangaflo.
Be wary, as the fodder worms will hide below the surface and attack from below to catch you out.

Gangaflo can be annoying to fight if you are ambushed, asthey have the ability to inflict Paralysis. However, if you stun them, you should be able to use their weakness to fire attacks against them and dispatch them relatively easily.
After this, head forward until you see an NPC who will warn you about Paralysis attacks, and then head right of him and right again. This will take you up a slope with a Gangaflo, and you’ll enter an area with some holes in the wall that you can crawl through.

Crawl through the first hole on your right, and in this little hidden area, you will find a chest containing a Screwed-Up Mineral, which is a key itemneeded to progress your bond with Neuras.
You can then explore a little further down the hall to find a Chest containing Onyx, and then you can head back and drop down at the ledge nearest to the Talkative Tooth NPC.

This will loop you back to the entrance, and from here, you’ll want to head past the NPC from before on his right, and then down the stairs to the next area of the cave.
This next area is filled with fodderRockworms, Gelatinos, and the occasional Gangaflo. However, your first port of call here should be totake out the Red Magla Crystals in the immediate area.
You should then be able to proceed up a level where you will find a guard NPC that will warn you about the boss up ahead. But before that, turn around and explore the area behind you.
Here, you’ll find a Chimenza, which is a tough enemy but one that can be dealt with easilyif you have access to the Seeker Archetype or some wind magic.
Past this enemy, you’ll find a ledge where you can drop down and by exploring the various paths below, you’ll be able to acquire a Hero’s Leaf of Light and a Golden Beetle.

Then after this brief detour, work your way back to the area where the guard NPC resides, and then press onward. You’ll need to deal with a Gangflo and some Juvenile Rockworm Valmos. Then, head along the path left tofind a Chest containing the Quartz Mace.
After this, continue along the path ahead, and you’ll come to a doorway leading to the boss of this area.
How To Beat Alpha Rockworm Valmo
Before we get into the choreography of this fight, there are a few things that you should know about this boss. Firstly, they have very effective Paralysis attacks, so it is important to have items and Igniters that make these moves less of a burden.
Second, if you take down one of these Worms without taking out the other simultaneously, the battle will go on indefinitely. So the best way to ensure you take them down at onceis to weaken both Rockworms and then use a Synthesis move that attacks all enemies.
The best Synthesis attack for the job is Gablizza, as this will deal medium Ice damage to both enemies. But you’ll need the Wizard Archetype for this one.
Then, thirdly, these enemies are weak to Ice magic, so you should set up your party to have as many ice-type moves as possible, or moves that support the party members that do with helpful buffs.
If you have the Thief Archetype active, you’ll be able to steal the Damascus Helm from the boss, and because there are two of them, there are two up for grabs.
After your initial turn, the Alpha Rockworm Valmo will likely use Sandstorm,a move that hits all party members and lowers your hit rate and evasiveness.
Then, they will likely follow this up with Paralysis Fang, which usually paralyzes a party member.
If you want to control who gets attacked with this Paralysis attack, consider using a Knight Archetype or Set Skill, allowing you to use Knight’s Proclamation.
The only other attacks of note you need to worry about are theirFeral Crush and Fire Breath attacks. The latter can be an issue for those running the Wizard/Mage Archetype, but generally speaking, you should be able to ride a few of these out.
If you lean into your Ice magic users and use a fitting strategy to ensure the whole party doesn’t get paralyzed, then you should be able to take these Rockworms down without too much issue.
