Konami announced last year that it is working on theMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eaterremake, officially calledMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, but nothing substantial about the game has been known since then. A few leaks revealed some things about the game, but there are no details on the release window.

Metal Gear Solid Delta is seemingly releasing in 2024.

However, it has seemingly changed now. PlayStation has released a preview trailer showcasing the games that players can look forward to playing this year, and one of the games listed isMetal Gear Solid Delta. Although the specific release date has not been mentioned, the game is scheduled to release in 2024.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Seemingly Launches in 2024

Hideo Kojima’sMGS3is one of the most loved and acclaimed games in the popular franchise. The remake of the game,Metal Gear Solid Delta, has been coined as a faithful remake by Konami and is said to bring advanced gameplay mechanics and stunning visuals. Players have been waiting to hear more about the game, and now PlayStation seems to have confirmed that they will not need to wait much longer.

PlayStation released the 2-minute preview trailer on its officialYouTubechannel with the games that have been announced to release in 2024 on PlayStation 5, includingLike a Dragon: InfiniteWealth,Tekken 8,The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, andHelldivers II. However, near the end of the video, it also listed some games without a confirmed release date, includingMetal Gear Solid Delta, hinting that the game might launch sometime in 2024.

PlayStation listed the remake in upcoming games of 2024.

It is important to note that Konami has been very silent about the remake and has not commented on the release date of the game. There is also no other information about the game other than that it will feature some of the original voice cast, including David Hayter, and will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The release window might be right as well, since the remake was also announced at the PlayStation Showcase in 2023.

Another reason why the release window might be correct is because the original game was released in 2004 and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Therefore, Konami may be looking to commemorate the occasion by releasing the remake. According to the leaks, the game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, as the developer wants to evolve the graphics and visuals.

A specific release date has not been mentioned.

The officialpagelisting the upcoming games in 2024 also mentions at the end that the featured titles are scheduled to release in 2024“at the time of publication”but also states that the“release timings for unreleased titles”may change and can also differ by region. It is also mentioned that the publisher of the games will be revealing further information on game releases.

The release date of the remakeDeltais exciting for players waiting for the game, and there are also reports that the developer is also working on the development of the first installment in theMetal Gear Solidseries. The sources have claimed that the game is already in the early stages of production and will be the main focus after the release ofMetal Gear Solid Delta, hopefully in 2024. However, it is advised to take everything about the remake of the original with a grain of salt.

Helldivers 2: How to Kill Tanks

But that’s not the only remake that has been listed to release in 2024, as another remake from the developer is also mentioned. The remake ofSilent Hill 2has also been in development for quite a while now, and there were also hints from the series producer that the game might launch this year. The mention of theSilent Hill 2remake should not come as a surprise, as it is currently available for pre-order on some stores, and the game’s Steam page has also been updated several times.
