Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark have been able to talk to The Direct about their plans forThe Batmanuniverse that started with the 2022 film. With The Penguin following up onThe Batman, talks about other ways to expand the franchise have surfaced, and there seems to be some interest in developing a particular character by allowing him to help his own show.

While speaking about how the franchise could expand, there was some potent indication that the producers of the franchise are looking to make the canceledArkham Asylumshow. However, it was also implied that a legal drama following Harvey Dent might be the right line of thought for future installments in the franchise.
Producers on The Penguin indicated that a Harvey Dent show might be around the corner
The producers ofThe Penguinwere asked point blank as to where they see an idea like a legal drama with Harvey Dent going byThe Direct, they replied that the interviewer was:
“…thinking certainly in the way that our conversations have gone.“

Matt Reeves has mentioned the vibe that he would like to take withThe Batmanand its wider universe, saying that the goal is always going to be to keep the narrative grounded. While fans might see the likes of Harvey Dent, The Joker, and Hush appear in the universe it is unlikely that more supernatural villains like Ra’s al Ghul, The Gentleman Ghost, and Solomon Grundy would show up in the films at all.

BeforeThe Batmancame along, there seems to have been a laser focus on The Joker in Batman’s rogues gallery, despite the Bat of Gotham having one of the most interesting sets of villains. With its focus on the Riddler, the film was able to break new ground, allowing audiences to indulge in a villain that was not plastered all over the place.

Characters like Hugo Strange, Hush, Mad Hatter, and Professor Pyg are among some of the characters that fans would love to see go toe to toe withRobert Pattinson‘s iteration of the character, as Matt Reeves digs deeper into the past of Gotham and the Wayne family.
