Marvel Rivals VS Overwatch: Which Game Is Better?
Which co-op hero shooter reigns supreme?
One of the most challenging things about playing as Ultron is being able to lock in your pick before someone else insta-locks him.Still, it’s nice to finally have more people engage in the meta byplaying Strategist Heroes instead of selfishly chasing DPS roles.

Here’s a guide on how to play Ultron, including when to best use his abilities, how to manage enemy counters, and synergize with your teammates.
Ultron Reticle And Settings
Before we begin, let’s take a look at settings specific to Ultron that we can use to maximize our performance. From now on, we’ll be including reticles and settings for each new character.
The game doesn’ttell you outright, but more experienced players will tell you thatcustomizing the shape and color of your reticle can potentially improve your performance. If nothing else, at least it will personalize your experience with each Hero.

Simply head to the Settings –> Keyboard –> Combat –> HUD –> Details, and make sure that you have Ultron set as the specific character with this setting.
Here is the saved code for the reticle, credits tomarvelrivals.ggandMarvel Rivals Merchant: 4;0.0;10.0,0.0,100.0,11.0;100.0,100.0,19.0,100.0;50.0,60.0,0.0,0.0;100.0,55.0,0.0,100.0;0.0,0.0,0.0,62.0;33.0,0.0,89.0,33.0;21.0;100.0,100.0,19.0,100.0;0.0;5,4,3,2;1.0,0.918,0.0;

Like every healer, you’ll want to ensure to turn on Healing Feedback and Allied Health Bars ON,so that you can get an accurate read on how much healing you’re doing, and whether your healing drone is still active.
Ultron Overview
Strategist
Difficulty
Ultron can best be described as an off-healer.Like Mantis, Ultron’s main appeal doesn’t come from high bursts of healing, and cannot match the healing pace of main healers like Luna Snow or Jeff.
Instead, Ultron is best played as a consistent support, dealing damagewhilehealing his allies in between. Ultron’s healing is more of a slow yet consistent AOE HP regeneration, which is fortunately balanced with apretty respectable DPS that can net some pretty decent kills if you’re accurate enough.

As Ultron, your job is to juggle your healing drone, shifting between your divers and your main team while backing them up with cover fire in the air.
While Ultron’s kit is simple and has two stars on the difficulty scale, he is deceptively difficult to play well. He’s slow, doesn’t have a lot of self-sustain, and can be easily shot out of the sky if you’re not careful. But in the right hands, he can be quite a nuisance to the enemy team.
Ultron Abilities
Description
Encephalo-Ray
Basic attack.Unleash a stream of damage that deals 6 ticks of 12 damage per hit, but deals 75 at the final hit.
Rage of Ultron
Ultimate.Summon Ultron Drones to fire bursts of projectiles that deal 8 damage while healing 25 HP per hit. Ultron and his drones fire five times per burst, and each burst has an area of effect.
Imperative: Firewall
Alternate fire.Ultron summons drones that grant Bonus Health to himself and allies within an 8m spherical radius. Ultron receives 75 Bonus Health while allies receive 55. Bonus Health begins to fall off after 3 seconds. 10-second cooldown.
Imperative: Patch
Command a large drone to follow an ally, constantly healing allies within its 8m spherical radius. Targeted ally is healed for 45 health per second, while allies around them are healed for 30. No cooldown. The drone will display how many allies are currently being healed, and will detach from the target if they leave line of sight for more than 5 seconds.
Dynamic Flight
Movement ability.Perform a quick aerial dash in the direction of movement and enter an Accelerated state, moving 40% faster than base speed for 8 seconds. 8-second cooldown.
Ultron’s Imperative: Patch is his bread and butter,as it has no cooldown and can be cast on any ally within line of sight and a certain range.
While Imperative: Patch doesn’t heal as quickly as most other healers, this ability essentially renders the target ally a mobile healing station, allowing you to heal multiple allies at once, albeit at a slower pace.
To play Ultron well, you’ll need to be able to juggle your drone between teammatesand be a constant presence on the battlefield while ensuring you don’t get taken out first.
LikeIron Man,Storm, andHuman Torch,Ultron is a permanently flying character, and is the only flying Strategist in the game thus far.He can deal a consistent stream of damage while healing his allies from the air.
Ultron’s ultimate, Rage of Ultron, deals splash damage that both damagesandheals allies, similar toLoki’sbasic attack.
Ultron Offensive Tips
Ultron works great as a backup DPS in the chaos of battle. While your enemies are too busy fighting off your team’s DPS and tanks, you can use your Encephalo-Ray to pick off any stragglers in critical health.
As a mobile Strategist who can deal respectable burst damage,Ultron can be played rather aggressively. While Ultron doesn’t have the best healing output, it is consistent. As long as your drone is attached to an ally, and you’re still alive, you’ll be doling out a constant stream of healing.
Ultron Defensive Tips
Unlike Iron Man and Human Torch,Ultron does not have any effective escape toolsand struggles with survivability like Storm. In other words,he is prone to getting shot out of the air if your positioning is less than ideal.
Ultron Team-Up Abilities
Team-Up Ability
Heroes Needed
Active Ability.Iron Man upgrades Ultron’s basic attack, firing an unstoppable Nano Ray straight ahead that pierces through all enemies, delivering damage while simultaneously restoring health to allies for 8 seconds.Nano Ray deals 70 damage per second and heals for 85 HP per second.30-second cooldown.
As of Season 2.5, Iron Man can upgrade Ultron’s primary fire, which, when activated, allows Ultron to shoot a persistent beam that can overpenetrate enemies and allies.
This attack trades the 75 damage burst with a constant stream of damage and healing, allowing you tokeep allies alive while whittling down enemies' health bars.
Much like his ultimate, Ultron’s Nano Ray heals more than it damages, so it’s best toline up your shots so that you’re right behind your ally while they’re engaging the enemy directly.
Due to the newer changes to the meta, Iron Man isn’t as strong as before and doesn’t receive any buffs from this Team-Up, but picking the genius, playboy, billionaire givesUltron an extremely valuable tool to damage and heal at the same time, similar to Moira’s ultimate inOverwatch.
Pocket-healing an ally Iron Man is a valid strategy, though keep in mind that it does somewhat deprive your team of consistent heals. With that said, this strategy only works best if you have a good Iron Man player.
Ultron Counters And How To Deal With Them
While Ultron is a flyer,he lacks a lot of mobility, and his survivability is reliant on staying close to teammates with his healing drone.
Just about any Hero with a decent hit-scan attack or fast projectile can easily take him out of the sky, so beware of these possible threats during a fight.
Not manyVanguardscan reach Ultron if he’s high enough, but a well-positionedEmma Frostcan catch you off guard and chain a deadly combo with her Diamond Form choke slam attack if you’re within her reach.
Thankfully, the White Queen has a very short attack range. When you do see an enemy Emma Frost, make sure you’re staying far, far away from her.
Despite being made of metal, Ultron is surprisingly squishy and can be easily taken out by mostDuelists.
Spider-ManandIron Fistcan quickly close the gap and pummel him to scrap metal.Thankfully, Dynamic Flight can help keep them at an arm’s length.
When ambushed by either of these divers, the difference between life and death is whether you’re isolated and your aim with your Encephalo-Ray, so make sure you stay with your team when this happens and practice your aim.
Enemies with hit-scan attacks, likePunisher,Hawkeye,Hela, andBlack Widow, can easily take you out of the air with superior range and damage output. When you encounter them in a fight, cover management is key, and notify any divers you might have on your team so they can help you take them out.
Much like the aforementioned hit-scan enemies, this also applies to Strategist characters likeJeff,Adam Warlock,Mantis, andLuna Snow, who all have hit-scan basic attacks that can pierce your metal chassis.
The advice applies the same with hit-scan Duelists, but with the added caveat that you can outmatch them in damage output and mobility, though this requires a higher level of skill to pull off.
Best Ultron Team Comps
Frontliners who deploy any type of barrier are great teammates for Ultron to have.Groot,Doctor Strange,Magneto, and even Emma Frost are great as they can receive passive healing from Ultron’s Imperative: Patch ability to keep them in the fight longer.
Alternatively, you can accompany divers likeHulkandThorto flank the enemy team, providing cover fire and consistent healing to let them break the enemy’s defenses.
Other than Iron Man, the Duelists who will benefit the most from Ultron arebrawlers likeMagikandMister Fantastic, who can become pseudo-tanks with their own bonus health gains and high survivability.
Because Ultron has a relatively weak healing output, you’ll want to compensate with another Strategist whose healing can outpace his.
Luna Snow,Cloak & Dagger,Invisible Woman, and Jeff the Land Shark can complement Ultron’s balanced, half-DPS, half-support playstyle.
