The main reason for the huge success of this title is itsMarveluniverse setting and 33 popular characters from that universe.
Now, it seems this diverse roster is going to be more diverse. According to a certain leak, a total of 13 characters are lined up for the game’s roster. Among these 13 Marvel superstars are Captain Marvel, Deadpool, Mr. Fantastic, Ultron, and many more.

Numerous leakers have discovered references to various upcomingMarvel Rivalcharacters that appear to be in development due to datamining in-game files. Naturally, the majority of these are conjectures based on data from the files. However, given that the development of these characters seems to be ongoing, it is evident that NetEase has plans for them.

Among these characters, many of them had already been claimed to be surfacing in the roster previously by Miller Ross. Ross stated in May that Human Torch, Ultron, Blade, The Thing, Wolverine, Squirrel Girl, and Moon Knight were coming into the game before they were even announced. Now the interesting part is that the latter three characters actually made it so, there is a strong chance that the remaining characters will also join the fray.

Three additional characters have been referenced by dataminer Matfacio as follows: Captain Marvel, Hit-Monkey, and Angela.Matfacioadded that the game files contain references to Deadpool possibly being a playable character, but he has warned against falling for their tricks because of some irregularities in the files, saying,“I don’t want to fall into their trap.”
Additionally,Fumo Leaksinvestigated the Chinese build and discovered compelling evidence that Emma Frost and Jean Grey are also nearby. The Hood for Marvel Rivals has also been hinted at byMiller Ross. For those who don’t know, the Hood is a villain fromMarvelwho most recently assumed the role of Ghost Rider. It’s unclear, though, because there doesn’t seem to be much information about The Hood before or after Ghost Rider.

Although they aren’t playable at the moment, Knull and Doctor Doom have been included in the game’s promotional materials. Knull appeared in the seasonal launch trailer forMarvel Rival‘s Season 0, which features two antagonists in the form of Doctor Doom. Both of them have official artwork, so they may eventually turn into characters.
However, take these with a grain of salt as usual as none of these are confirmed or acknowledged by the devs. Characters are not necessarily released just because they appear in the files. Nevertheless, it appears likely that we will hear more about these characters in the future.
