However, there goes more behind the scenes than you might consider, including the many different challenges the developers go through to cook up what exactly makes the game ‘fun’ for millions of players. One of these challenges that they have talked about is getting the destruction of the environment right for once.

Marvel Rivalsand its Environmental-Destruction Dilemma

Revealing in one of the Dev Talk diaries shared onSteam, the brains behind the game withmillions of players dailyrevealed how hard it was to get the environmental destruction right in the game. While it might not have mattered much in any other shooter, being aMarvelgame, destruction and chaos is only natural and expected, and that is exactly what the developers suffered against.

Naturally, creating this chaos wasn’t a walk in the park. We had to make sure that the aftermath of your destruction didn’t hinder the fluidity of heroes’ movement or mess with their high-flying acrobatics. Random debris on the ground or holes in walls enrich the gameplay but irregular edges can affect the smoothness of character movement and abilities.

The said mechanics might also have to do something with theoptimization issues many players go throughand have criticized the game for.
