It was one of the well-written arcs by Eiichiro Oda. But according to the legendary mangaka, it was just the tip of the iceberg. During an interview, Eiichiro Oda said that the Marineford arc was a simple arc and something for the story to progress. The Final Saga is what motivates the mangaka to keep on writing the manga. He was surprised to see the Marineford arc become so popular.
He further added that after witnessing the Final Saga, the fans will have a mutual feeling. They will be blown away by it and leave behind the Marineford arc as their favorite. Eiichiro Oda made this bold claim in 2012. So, the fans were not sure how much to believe him, especially after witnessing the iconic Paramount War. But standing in 2024, they can say that he is preparing the best dessert ever, named the Final Saga.
One PieceHas Entered Its Final Saga
After the Wano arc ended, the Final Saga began inOne Piece. The Egghead Island arc is the first arc of the Final Saga. Even though it was thought to be a slow-paced arc initially, as the story progressed,Eiichiro Odaonce again proved why he is considered a genius. Bartholomew Kuma’s backstory, Blackbeard’s cunning plan, Garp vs. Aokiji, and now Monkey D. Luffy vs theGorosei. It has been a full circle of emotions. Blinking the eye could lead to missing important details.
While the manga is in the climax of the latest arc, the anime aired the arc in January. It is just the cherry on top of the dessert, with more yet to come. Oda confirmed that after Wano arc, he would draw the biggest arc inOne Piecehistory. With so many alphas in his magnum opus, fans believe the war will be epic.
