However, the excitement stopped for many whenit was announcedthat the standard edition ofNintendo Switch 2 would retail for $449.99in the United States, while theMario Kart World Bundle will cost $499.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Battery Life Is Worse Than We Feared
Nintendo’s battery life estimate is slightly worse than the launch model of the original Switch.
This is significantly more expensive than the first Nintendo Switch, which launched with a price tag of $299, whereas the Lite and OLED editions were priced at $199 and $349 respectively.
Another shocking revelation was the increase in games prices. Nintendo Switch 2 games will cost$80 in Nintendo’s digital store, whilephysical games will be $90.

These price hikes did not go well with many fans, and they did not shy away from voicing their discontent the old-fashioned way!
During the first Nintendo Treehouse Livestream on the Nintendo of America YouTube channel, around 99% of all the comments were “DROP THE PRICE”, with only a few comments centered around the stream itself.
ThePS5 Propremium price tag and the big success Nintendo Switch achieved in its lifecycle,selling more than 150 million units worldwide, probably played a role in Nintendo’s decision on the price tag of Switch 2.
Nevertheless, these price increases are not pleasing, and many other publishers will gradually follow Nintendo’s price standards, and soon,$80 gameswill be normalized in the industry.
With that said, Nintendo Switch 2 comes with a lot ofcool new features, amazing improvements and interesting new games.
