Made in Abyss Season 2 Episode 7 Recap
In the previous episode of Made In Abyss Season 2, Vueko and others are forced to adapt to their new environment after finding themselves stuck in the sixth layer. Meanwhile, Vueko starts feeling a connection with a tribe girl named Irumyuui, who he begins to look up to as a parental figure. Irumyuui reveals that her family considers her a curse, given that she is infertile. Ganja is able to locate the water source, making it possible for them to survive in the sixth layer. But, one day, Vueko finds Ganja and Irumyuui sick, and it turns out that the water is a living organism that reproduces when someone consumes it. The food survey team is also dead after consuming the water, but they are found with an egg-like creature in their possession.
Not much time is left for them to find a cure, and it turns out that the object they found is an old relic called the Cradle of Desire. The relic is known to grant the deepest desire of a person, but there’s a certain condition to its use that might be harmful to children. As the water worsens their condition further, the Sages decide to help them and give her the Cradle. At first, Irumyuui wakes up healthier, but her body starts to deform with time. Then one day, she gives birth to some small creatures, and Vueko figures out she wished to have children.
As the creatures are born without internal organs, all of them would die soon after birth. Irumyuui gave birth to the children continuously, and all of them died, which caused her immense pain. When the water starts to show its effect on Vueko, Wazukyan feeds her a mysterious broth that heals her. But then it turns out that Irumyuui had been saving her children, and Vueko had consumed them.
