Although not every team in the NFL has a running Quarterback, this is indeed a valuable role that could add up to your offensive options when you are seeking to score a Touchdown. That being said, controlling a running Quarterback inMaddenNFL 24 isn’t that easy, as you always face threats of Sack or Fumble.

That being said, experienced players usually know when to play aggressively and when to hold back for a cautious play. This is one of the reasons why sliding is quite important for running Quarterbacks as well as running backs.
How To Slide
Sliding is quite simple and straightforward in Madden NFL 24. All you need to do is totap the X button on Xbox or the Square button on PlayStation for a single time, and the character carrying the ball will slide. Usually, if you see the path ahead is blocked, but you want to gain as many yards as possible, you may use Sliding. Also,if you hold down the same button, you can dive.
Keep in mind that the way a running back slides is different from the way a Quarterback slides. Usually, Quarterbacks slide while their feet are pushing forward on the ground and the ball is kept back, but when running backs slide it’s almost similar to soft dive where the player’s head is pushing forward and the feet stay in the back.

It really depends on the situation you are facing, but usuallydives are better for gaining more yardsandslides are better for saving the balland avoiding a fumble. If you want to try out sliding with a QB, you need to keep in mind only a certain number of QBs in Madden NFL 24 are capable of running on their own, including Baltimore Ravens’Lamar Jackson, who is one of the highest-rated running Quarterbacks in the game.
When Sliding Is Possible?
Sliding with a Quarterback is only possible whenyour offensive playbook has the option for QB to run on its own. So, once your QB gets the ball, you need to use your left stick to guide him in the direction you want. Once the QB starts running with the ball, you will be able to slide.
Also, keep in mind that playbooks where the QB is supposed to pass to the other players there will be no option to pass the ball unless the playbook gives you the option to run with your QB as well. This is why in pass-based playbooks you can’t slide, and the slide button will actually intervene with one of the receivers.
