Resident Evil 6 Deserves More Credit

Every game needs zom-body to love them

Dusk Golem, as spotted byTheGamer, states thaticonic Resident Evil protagonist Leon Kennedy, who is (allegedly) in the trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, will be the game’s protagonist. “You play far more as Leon than Grace,” hesays. “Become[s] more obvious as marketing continues, into the final game.” He also clarifies that Leon will play the biggest role in the upcoming game.

Resident Evil REmake, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4

While Raccoon City Is Prominently Displayed In The Resident Evil Requiem Trailer, It’s Reportedly Not The Main Setting For The Game

In what could be another misdirection from Requiem’s trailer, Dusk Golem also says that Raccoon City won’t be the game’s “primary setting.” Instead, it’s a place that we’ll routinely visit throughout the game.

The unfortunate location for the T-virus outbreak, Raccoon City, is closed off to the rest of the world by the United States government in the franchise’s universe. On October 1st, 1998, during the events of several games: Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil Outbreak, Resident Evil Outbreak File #2, and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, an experimental thermobaric missile destroyed the city.

What Order Should You Play The Resident Evil Games?

With the series split into a few arcs, it’s easy to jump into any one of them.

Since then, in the Resident Evil timeline, any in-game events have taken place elsewhere. The mainline franchise has traveled worldwide, dealing with the fallout from the Umbrella Corporation while also dealing with new threats. Most recently, in a soft reboot in Resident Evil 7, the game’s story followedEthan Winters, though old friend Chris Redfield shows up at the end.

Resident Evil 7 and its sequel,Resident Evil: Village, shifted the game to a first-person perspective. It’s unknown whether that will continue in Resident Evil Requiem. It appears, though, that the newest installment of the iconic survival horror franchise is, at least in one way, going back to where it all began and expanding on already established lore and characters.

Resident Evil Requiem will release on February 27th, 2026, for PC,Xbox Series X|S, andPlayStation 5.
