With the in-development Battlefield game titled “Battlefield 6” being worked on by four studios at once at EA, could this multi-studio approach translate into a higher price?
While EA hasn’t announced anything, a new rumor has surfaced stating thatthis could be the most expensive Battlefield game sold at retailto date.

The same rumor also points out that the shooter will be released later this year.
Battlefield 6’s Price Might Make EA History
According to a report by the reliablebillbil-kun, Battlefield 6 will be priced at €79.99 on consoles, and €69.99 on PC. Before anyone jumps to conclusions, this doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be priced at $80 in the US.EA Sports FC 25, which was also priced at the same price, was released in the US at the now-standard $70 on consoles.
Of course, with some video game companies pushing for $80-priced games, this could very well be a real possibility for BF6 to be sold at that price at launch.

In addition to that, the report also claims that the game will be available in two variants: Standard and the Phantom Edition. The latter isn’t a Collector’s Edition, but more of a Deluxe Edition that will house additional in-game content. For now, the current pricing for the game is as follows:
Battlefield 6 Contents
Xbox Series
Standard Edition
Phantom Edition
Upgrade to Phantom Edition
The same report mentions that Battlefield 6 will be released on June 16, 2025. This date is something the 1BF Telegram leaker group has mentioned as well, and they have gleamed this info via the Battlefield Lab game files.
Battlefield Extends Olive Branch To Players Over Class Weapons
This is a good compromise for now.
Bear in mind, for now, none of the info shared is official, and as such, should be treated with a grain of salt. That said, this leaker has been known to be accurate when it comes to game prices and listings, so we’re giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Thankfully, the wait won’t be long, as EAis set to unveil Battlefield 6’s official reveal tomorrow. If the publisher really isbetting on Battlefield 6 to reach the most players in franchise history, having it release at a higher price point than your regular premium game surely won’t do it any favors.

In related news, The Outer Worlds 2 was originally Microsoft’s first $80 game. Today, that changed, as Microsoft hasannounced they have backtracked on the price, and will instead offer it for just $70.
Will you still buy Battlefield 6 if it’s priced at $80?
