Loot Filters in Last Epoch allow players to customize the loot that they see when they defeat an enemy. Setting up a Loot Filter can seem like an intimidating task at first, but with a little bit of guidance and some basic know-how, they’re easy to get the hang of.

Ever Wanted To Own A Carved Marble Arcade Cabinet? Well, Now You Can

If you have the space and quite a bit of extra cash lying around, these marble arcade cabinets would look stunning in any gamers home.

Last Epoch lets you both create your own Loot Filters or use prebuilt filters made by someone else. Both methods are perfectly viable, but if this is your first time experiencing the game, I’d recommend experimenting by creating your filter and going from there. Here is what you need to know to get started.

How To Make A Loot Filter

To start making a Loot Filter:

Once you’re done naming the filter, click ‘Confirm,’ and you’ll be taken to it. you’re able to cycle through different filters using the drop-down at the top. Only one filter can be active at one time, buteach filter can have multiple rules(Max 75) that deal with different things.

Adding New Rules

To start, click on ‘Add Rule’ and you’ll be taken to a new screen. We’ll start off with a simple rule. The goal is to make a rule that says no white items should show up as a drop. Ever. To do this, we’ll select ‘Hide’ in the Visibility drop-down, ‘Rarity’ in the Conditions drop-down, and select ‘Normal’ in the Properties drop-down. The game will automatically come up with a naming scheme for any rule you make. In this case, the game named this rule ‘Hide all Normal Items.’ It’s fairly descriptive, and there’s nothing I want to change. But you do have the option to do so via ‘Edit Rule Name.’

Customizing A Loot Filter

Now, say I’m leveling up and I keep seeing trash Magic items that are not worth my time. I’d simply go back to this rule and select’Magic' alongside ‘Normal’and hit save. And voila! No more magic items. But wait! There aresomeblue items that you may want to show up.

Like say, I want to use Rune of Shattering to get some good shards, and I don’t want to destroy Rare items to do it. Well, I canadd a new rule to my loot filter that says only Magic Items with the suffixes I want will show up.

To do this, I’d create a new rule by clicking on ‘Add Rule.’ Select ‘Show’ under visibility, ‘Rarity’ under Condition, and select ‘Magic.‘Then, I would add another condition by clicking on the plus icon below the first condition, selecting ‘Affix’ instead of rarity, and then selecting the affixes I want to show up in my loot.

In this case, I selected the ‘Level of Shatter Strike’ affix because I’m focused on making a Shatter Strike Spellblade. There isno limit to the number of affixesyou can select here, and all of them will apply.

Once you’re done creating this second rule, save it and exit out of the screen. Here, the most important rule of Loot Filters comes into play.Any rule that’s above another overrides the one that’s below it.

So, in the first rule, we made it so that you can never see any Magic items, but in the second rule, we added an amendment to the first one. Drag the second rule above the first one so that it sits on top.

You can disable any active Loot Filter by holding X.

How To Import Filters

If you’re experimenting with different builds and looking up guides for it, theimport filter optionis crucial. Most build guides come with a Loot Filter designed to only show loot viable for that build in particular. With the import function available by default, you may get these filters in your game using a click of a button. There are two options.
