Masashi Kishimoto has created one of the Big Three of the Shonen manga world,Naruto. However, it is under no circumstances a perfect anime/manga, as there are several underused as well as overused plot devices in the franchise.

InNaruto,dojutsu are techniquesthat utilize the eyes. Techniques like the Byakugan, Sharingan, and Rinnegan are some of the most well-known dojutsu techniques. The dojutsu in Naruto uses the very nature of a manga and embodies it in the eyes.

Accordingto a fan theory, the abilities of some of these Ocular techniques are absurd. Some can rewrite events in their eyes, conjure flames, or other abilities that simply do not suit a shinobi. Rather than power, the Sharingan and other such techniques can be called more of a plot device that was used to give Sasuke a much-needed power-up.
TheSusanoo formis one of the most famous abilities among Sharingan users. However, this huge beast felt very unlike the Uchiha Clan’s clever manners. The clan members relied on intelligence more than brute strength, and such a power seemed far removed from the clan’s values.
Masashi Kishimoto’s Destructive Pattern withNarutoandBoruto
Masashi Kishimoto‘s over-reliance on Sharingan and other dojutsu was disturbing inNaruto. The introduction ofkekkei genkai made matterseven worse. It allowed users to become far more powerful than the average shinobi and are apparently deployed just to turn the tide of a battle.
The Sharingan is often inconsistent and not well-explained in many parts of the series. The Rinnegan that is based on Sharingan is lackluster in comparison to the original power. The Byakugan also received no later power boosts. Several dojutsu were also left undeveloped: the Ketsuryugan plot did not work out and nor did Tenseigan or Senrigan.

This practice of Masashi Kishimoto of creating one power to serve as a plot device and hyper-focusing on it perhaps stopped Naruto from reaching greater lengths. Even in Boruto, Kishimoto has been found hyper-fixating on Jougan.
The Jougan is a dojutsu that is exclusive to the Otsutsuki Clan. It enables Boruto to see changes in one’s chakra and track them through it. It also has many more amazing abilities, but all of them are ill-explained. If Masashi Kishimoto truly wantedBorutoto succeed, he would have to come out of his comfort zone and create powers that would actually launchBorutoto greatness.
