Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distancehas some of the easiest boss fights in the Kingdom Hearts series while also having the most difficult main story boss fights. The game gives multiple ways to take down bosses depending on how players build Riku and Sora.

These bosses are those that provided the most difficult fights in the game, and with the combat system of Dream Drop Distance included, they are also some of the most enjoyable to go through. The game only has 18 boss fights, so some will be much easier than those located farther on the list.

10Holy Moley

The Holy Moley fight feels like a hide-and-seek situation. This is because the mole has a portal that can teleport to any location on the map. This fight will feel a lot like the player is frequently on the hunt for this giant mole boss. The stage where the fight takes place is somewhat large, so the mole can be hard to find.

The actual attacks that the Mole does are not much to worry about. Riku will most likely be leveled high enough by the time he reaches theCountry of the Muskateers world, making it easy for him to slice through the boss like butter. This is, however, thehardest bossup to this point in Riku’s story arc.

9Chernabog

Chernabog is one of those Kingdom Hearts fights that take aspects of what players learned about the game and just completely switch it up on the player. Riku will have to avoid giant boulders thrown at him, pillars of fire, and spinning fireballs as he hurdles toward Chernabog. This is fairly a straightforward three-hit fight but might demand a couple of tries to complete.

Players will need to be careful not to try and rush through it, as going fast can be useful but mainly to dodge specific boss attacks.

8Pete And The Beagle Boys

Pete and the Beagle Boys can be a bit difficult mainly because it puts the players up against three different bosses at once. The good thing is that the Beagle Boys provide a lot of space for Sora to take them out individually. Once the fight gets to taking down Pete alone, it’s easy as sometimes, in phase 1, it will feel like Pete is trying to run away from Sora.

As the fight progresses, Pete becomes a lot stronger. He will be more on the offense and use props to try and kill Sora. Overall, it isn’t too tricky except for the first part.

7Spellican

Spellican will annihilate players if they are not at the right level, as the multiple phases make it extremely powerful. Players will first have to dodge the Spellican’s attack as they fly to finally break space and time, so the player can fight it in its colorfully broken world.

Spellican will begin to, as its name suggests, cast powerful spells the player will need to avoid. The Spellican has a lot of spells with a long reach and a hefty life bar. Players must be on the chase to avoid getting caught far away for long enough.

Xemnas is where bosses in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance go from feeling fair to impossible. The difficulty of bosses reaches a point where it assumes you’ve mastered the game and are ready to take on anything. This includes Xemnas, who will throw giant buildings at Sora throughout the fight.

As usual, Xemnas uses a dual-wielding lightsaber attack to try to take on Sora. He also places electricity shields to harm and block attacks from players. Players must time blocks well, as Xemnas has combos that will trap them for quite some time.

The first part of the Ansem fight starts with the player in the air, which make the fight a little clunky as it relies primarily on understanding how to successfully dodge attacks using gliding mechanics. As the players fall toward the ground, the fight will start to change as Ansem’s heartless will do barrages of projectile attacks.

The boss then has a second form after being killed, where Ansem will be completely enveloped by its dark Heartless creature and change up the fight. This fight will have larger projectiles and a cage of darkness that gets players critical after catching them.

4Anti-Black Coat Nightmare

Anti-Black Coat Nightmare indeed feels like a nightmare as the player will battle an enemy that tries to primarily hide in the darkness before they start attacking. Towards the beginning of the fight, Nightmare will try and do a grab attack that will instantly drain the player for most of their life.

Nightmare will start dealing more slashes with his sword that’s engulfed in darkness. He will also start to shoot bullets made of dark energy at the opponent. There are several moments where if players aren’t careful, they’ll get killed within a couple of seconds.

3Armored Ventus Nightmare

Fighting the Armored Ventus Nightmare feels like the perfect final boss of the game. The Health bar is not the largest in the game, but part of what makes the fight so good is that players have to strategically take out this enemy due to his deadly speed. The boss will see most opportunities against the player as openings and quickly attack them.

It also can traverse through the darkness quickly to avoid being damaged. Players will use most of what they learned in combat throughout the game and, in the end, take out the boss.

2Young Master Xehanort

Young Master Xehanort might not be the final boss of the game, but he serves as one of them. His powers make it feel like he deserves to be the final boss, and at times, he is extremely powerful to fight. In the first phase, the boss will teleport and has an extremely long reach with his whip-like Keyblade.

The second form has Young Master Xehanort regain all of his health and do primarily magic and attacks that will come from a clock. The clock will also summon copies of Young Master Xehanort that expel a flurry of slashes toward the player.

Julius is an optional boss in the game and by far the most difficult one. He might not be the largest boss in the game, but he moves the fastest relative to his size. With every hit that is dealt by Julius, the player feels as though it can take them from having a pretty hearty health bar to critical condition quickly.

As with many other bosses in the game, there is a way to kill this boss without having to try using Balloon spells. If the players do it this way, he is much less formidable of an opponent. He also happens to drop the strongest weapon in the game, so it is well worth defeating him for the Ultima Weapon Keyblade.
