The Kingdom Hearts series has gameplay that keeps getting better with the creation of each game. The change of gameplay also introduces a new slew of mini-games. Each mini-game introduces the change and shows some completely new mechanics that are relevant to the game in some way. A lot of the mini-games that the kingdom Hearts series set forth test players in different ways or provide a challenge that the players must face to progress with the story.

All of these mini-games provide some of the most enjoyable moments in the Kingdom Hearts series as some help to give players a little change of pace while others help in forming stronger bonds with characters.
10Fruit Ball - Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Fruit Ball isKingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep’s version of volleyball except it’sdone with a Keybladeand way more chaotic than the actual sport which is expected from the video game iteration of the game. There are constantly different fruits being thrown into the field that players must get into the goalpost. This is easier said than done as there will be Unversed or different opponents throwing the fruit back at the player’s court.
The game is very high-energy and has a lot of moments that will make players get out of their seats and cheer when they score a lucky shot or unlock a new high score.

9Rumble Racing - Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep
Rumble racing is like if parts of Mario Kart were thrown into the Kingdom Hearts world, and it is a lot of fun. Players use their different Keyblade Gliders to race through a course that is located in Disney Town as well as in the Mirage arena. Players will have to navigate past enemies that come as different racers.
Players can use different abilities and boosters throughout the race to try and land the first-place spot. It’s a game that players won’t mind trying to get a high score in.

8Flick Rush - Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance
Flick Rush inKingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distancefeels like a much more interactive version of Pokémon. The battles feel like they take place in real-time as big Dream Eaters are going up against one another. The game also corks on a card system that allows for a lot of interesting combinations and sees which combination of cards will work best on the opponents.

Flick Rush is a lot of fun to get the hang of, but, near the end of the game, if players try to do every single cup and unlock enough points to get the secret cup it can seem like too much work needs to be done.
7Light Cycle - Kingdom Hearts 2
The Light Cycle mini-game inKingdom Hearts 2is actually an essential part of the story and needed to progress the game. This is one of the more challenging mini-games especially on critical mode as the maze-like structure of the course becomes tighter and a lot more difficult as the run goes on.
There are many obstacles that will present themselves as giant pillars and Heartless will try and ruin the player’s run. The fast pace feel and the use of the light cycle feels like it belongs well in this game.

6The Magic Carpet - Kingdom Hearts 2
The Magic Carpet mini-game that is located in Kingdom Hearts 2 feels like a cross between a rail shooter and a simple bullet hell. Players are on a set track traveling through the ruins of Agrabah as Heartless attack them and as buildings start to collapse on the player. Players need to dodge different obstacles while trying to kill as many Heartless as they can.

As the players progress the track gets more dangerous with sand bursting out of the ground to try and hit the player. It’s a nice addition to the game that has some great replay value for a couple of times.
5Musicals - Kingdom Hearts 2
The musicals in Kingdom Hearts 2 might have been the inspiration for Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. If only the songs in that game would have been as visually interesting to play through as this one. The way that the musicals work is pretty simple as players must click the buttons at the right time to hit the notes and sometimes button mash to land a better combo.
The gameplay is not anything grandiose in comparison to some games on this list, but its simple nature does the trick and makes Atlantica infinitely better than what it had provided in the first game.

4Honey Slider - Kingdom Hearts 2
This mini-game has Sora and Winnie the Pooh sliding through thewonderful worldof 100 Acre Woods trying to collect some honey orbs for Pooh. The setting is striking as players will go from a forest to the pages of a book to a snowy mountainous area. The path is treacherous as it will have obstacles that if the players hit it will make them lose one of their 10 life points.
The mini-game is littered with danger and while it might seem impossible the game is also extremely fair as players are able to collect all the honey orbs without getting hit a single time.
3Classic Kingdom: Barnyard Battle - Kingdom Hearts 3
The classic kingdoms game can range from being really fun to absolutely terrible. The good thing is thatKingdom Hearts 3’s Barnyard Battle is one that players will feel great playing through if they’re trying to get the highest score possible on it for whatever reason. The game is simple as it is only four buttons that need to be clicked so Mickey and Sora can bonk enemies on the head and not let them pass through.

The game gets progressively faster, and a lot more enemies are thrown at the player which can cause things to get really chaotic.
They put an entire working mech arcade mini-game intoKingdom Hearts 3. If that statement doesn’t sound overambitious then who knows what really is because it’s a little mind-blowing for players who are long fans of the series to see this. Yes, the combat could have been a bit quicker as the flying feels a little slow and the mechs can feel too heavy at times, but that doesn’t stop it from being a cool addition to the game.
The level has a lot of interactivity for its short duration and trying to get a high score can be difficult, but grinding one out never feels too out of place or boring as players get the hang of things quickly.
1Training Toys - Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance
Training Toys are toys that players unlock in their journey that give them mini-games for them to play with their Dream Eaters. Playing the mini-games with the Dream Eaters will cause them to level up and give them a boost in their stats. The games feel like mini-games within the pet simulator mini-game that the game has and because of that, they’re the best.
These mini-games make players spend a lot more time with their Dream Eaters completing challenges which build for a lot stronger relationships with the player’s pets. It’s a nice way to make players feel attached to their Dream Eaters and make it a sad moment when they need to switch one out if they unlock a better one.
