Warhorse Studio’supcoming sequel, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, seems to be one lengthy game in terms of cutscenes and dialogue, to the point that it might have established a new world record.
According to Guinness World Records, the current record holder for the longest game script is Larian Studios' Baldur’s Gate 3, which is said to have reached over two million words. But it seems Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 might have just beaten that.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 More Than Doubles The First Game’s Script
Over on Twitter/X, YouTube content creator ESO_Danny posted a photo of himself with the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 script, which showcases its total number of pages.
While ESO_Danny mentions Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is at 1.7 million words, it’s actually at 2.2 million, according to the officialWarhorse Studios Twitter/Xaccount. In addition, the game’s director, Daniel Vavra,even mentionedthat as far as he’s aware, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has the “longest script” for a game ever, including Baldur’s Gate 3.
Unless Vavra calls Guinness and lets them count the words or someone verifies them, we can’t really verify Vavra’s claims. If what the game director says is true, perhaps they would consider contacting Guinness to make things official.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will be released on February 4 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Warhorse has already sent out review copies weeks in advance in a move signaling confidence in the game. Of course, given the game’s script length, the extra time might be needed just to ensure reviews are up once the embargo is lifted.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is the sequel to the 2018 first-person, open-world medieval action-RPG that received generally positive reviews. As of November 2024, it’s said to have sold over eight million units.
