How To Start Ill Repute
Sometime after finishingA Good Scrub, gossip starts spreading throughout Kuttenberg that Betty is after the title of Municipal Bathhouse.
Talk to quest tipstersthroughout the city (bailiffs and innkeepers) and eventually this gossip will reach Henry’s ears, at which point he can go to the Kingfisher Bathhouse to the southeast of the city and bend old Betty’s ear.
Betty explains that Kuttenberg’s councilmen are imposing a new tax, and only one Municipal Bathhouse will be exempt.
Her main competitor, Adam, has an inside connection with Councilor Naaz, which gives him an unfair advantage in the riding. Betty asks Henry to do whatever he can to tip the scales in her favor.
Breaking Up Adam And Naaz
Information Gathering
Naaz is known to frequent Adam’s bathhouse to the southwest of Kuttenberg. Talk to the girls there to get information on Naaz.
If Henry gets caught during this part of the quest, you can instead bribe the Alderman who inspected Betty’s bathhouse in A Good Scrub for 5000 gold to get her the support that she needs. The Alderman can be found near Adam’s bathhouse.
Find Some Fleas, Use Some Fleas (Optional)
Fleas are, unsurprisingly, hardly lying around waiting to get dumped on councilmen. Talking to beggars is a good place to start, but most will take offense to Henry’s questions.
you may, however, find a flea-infested blanket in a beggar encampment near Kuttenberg’s Town Hall.
Once obtained, the fleas can be sprinkled into Naaz’s clean laundry and his personal chest back in Adam’s bathhouse.
Henry must be cautious, as being seen committing this act sends witnesses tocall the guards.
Steal Naaz’s Fancy Oil (Optional)
Naaz has a particular preference for a Foreign Fragrant Oil, which can be stolen from Adam’s bathhouse.
The oil is located on the third floor, beyond the first door and through the next door on the right inside a cabinet. Henry is considered trespassing on the third floor,so ensure no one sees you.
If you can’t find a window during daylight hours, consider donning some dark clothes and sneaking in at night.
Spike Naaz’s Wine With Chamomile (Optional)
Knowing that Naaz is sensitive to chamomile, Henry can spike his wine to make him uncomfortable. The wine is stored on the second floor of Adam’s bathhouse behind an easy-locked door on the left side at the top of the stairs.
Since this area is also guarded, Henry should either pick the lock at night or ensure that no one is around. Guards will be alerted if you are caught tampering, leading to trouble.

Finding Friends For Betty
Once Naaz’s relationship with Adam has been sabotaged, Henry must secure a new council ally for Betty. Reporting back to Betty at the Kingfisher Bathhouse, she will direct Henry to Councilor Tuchmacher, who runs a shop in central Kuttenberg.
Talk to him to figure out what he needs- but be careful not to mention Betty.
Tuchmacher requires a stand-in for a duel. Henry must agree to fight on his behalf, but there are several restrictions.
During the duel, Henry cannot wear armor, although clothing is allowed for minor protection. You can only use one of three weapons: a flail, mace, or hunting sword.
Meanwhile, your opponent, Jan, has no such limitations unless Henry passes a hard speech check to convince him to remove his armor.
If Jan dies, the entire quest fails. Be careful of your damage output and avoid headshots, especially with weapons you have a high skill in.
The fight can be challengingwithout armor, so consider potions like Artemisia or Buck’s Blood to boost your performance. Master blocking and ripostes are key tactics to winning the duel without excessive risk.
Poisoning your weapon with Bane can potentially win the dual with a single hit. Just dodge and block as the toxin drains Jan’s health until the duel is yours.
Once Henry emerges victorious, Tuchmacher agrees to support Betty, ensuring that she gains another vote in her favor.
The Votes Are In
After securing Tuchmacher’s support, Henry must report back to Betty. The final step is to wait 3–4 in-game days until the Kuttenberg council meets to finalize their decision.
The journal will update automatically once enough time has passed. Upon speaking with Betty again, she will confirm her victory and reward Henry with a lifetime offree bathhouse services.
