From shocking betrayals to unexpected twists,Game of Throneswas never afraid to take bold risks. But when it comes to the fates of Khal Drogo and Arya Stark, fans can’t help but feel there’s a bit of inconsistency. While one character meets a tragic end in the most unexpected way, the other seems to defy all odds, surviving what should’ve been a fatal attack.

It raises some interesting questions about how the show handles its characters and the role plot armor plays in their survival.
DidGame of Thronesgive Arya too much plot armor compared to Khal Drogo?
InGame of Thrones, some deaths made sense and were part of the natural flow of the story, while others left fans scratching their heads, especially when comparing the fates of Khal Drogo and Arya Stark. Played by Jason Momoa, Drogo was a powerful character who met his end in Season 1. He suffered a wound during a fight, which got infected and led to poisoning.
Even though he was a fierce warrior, the infection took its toll, and he eventually died. His death, caused by what many considered a“minor” injury, shocked fans. It felt sudden, and many were disappointed that such an important character had such an abrupt exit from the show.

On the other hand, Arya Stark faced a much different fate in Season 6. She was brutally attacked by The Waif, who stabbed her multiple times, including a deep wound to her abdomen. In most situations, those injuries would have been fatal, but Arya somehow survived. Despite being badly hurt, she managed to crawl away and eventually recovered.
This sudden recovery left many fans confused about how Arya survived such terrible injuries, while Drogo died. Many Reddit users pointed out this glaring inconsistency between the two characters.

Looking back, some fans feel thatDrogo deserved a bit more plot armor, too. After all, his character had a lot of potential, and his death seemed unfairly quick, especially given the important role he played in Daenerys Targaryen’s story. His death felt like a missed opportunity, and many fans still wish he had been given a better chance to develop.
In contrast, Arya’s survival after being stabbed so many times didn’t feel believable to many viewers. While she was trained to be a skilled assassin and was known for her strength and resilience, it was hard to understand how she could survive such life-threatening wounds, especially when compared to Drogo’s death.
