With the X-Men and the Fantastic Four in the mix, and Robert Downey Jr. curiously set to return to the MCU but as Doctor Doom, Feige seems to be going all in with the crossovers.

Ryan Gosling has been pursued for a role in the MCU for a few years now and it was rumored that he would be making his debut as Ghost Rider in an upcomingMidnight Sonsfilm. Though nothing has been confirmed, an industry insider recently revealed that Gosling might make his MCU debut much earlier inDoomsday.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is in Safe Hands: X-Men Will be Bigger Than Avengers If Report About Kevin Feige’s Masterstroke Comes True
While no official announcement was made, Feige seemed to be focused onAvengers: DoomsdayandSecret Wars. At last year’s Comic-Con, The Russo Brothers were brought back to helm the two-parter and Robert Downey Jr. was set to return to the MCU,but as Doctor Doom. The controversial casting has made the film all the more anticipated.
While theAvengersfilms will no doubt be packed with cameos and crossovers, a recent rumor by Daniel Richtman revealed that Feige planned to bring Ghost Rider into the MCU way before theMidnight Sonsfilm. While nothing is confirmed, the rumors indicate that Feige is not holding back on stuffing the climactic two-parter with gratuitous cameos and appearances. Gosling’s Ghost Rider is also rumored to have a major role in the film and would act as an obstacle for Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom.
Doctor Doom and Ghost Rider have clashed in the comics before
WhileRobert Downey Jr.’sDoctor Doom has the entirety of the MCU, including arch-enemies the Fantastic Four and the X-Men to face inAvengers: DoomsdayandSecret Wars, having Ryan Gosling’s Ghost Rider in the mix could tip the scales quite a bit for Doom. Victor Von Doom has had beef with many versions of Ghost Rider before.
In 2023’sMidnight Sunsrun of comics, the Midnight Sons group, which includes Wolverine, Blade, Spirit Rider, and Nico Minoru, has to defeat several villains as the threat of an apocalypse looms. As they fight Doctor Doom in the second issue, the King of Latveria mentions to Spirit Rider that he has encountered many Ghost Riders before.

Doctor Doom is an extremely powerful being and in his pursuit of world domination, he is likely to have encountered many superheroes who are based on both science and magic. Doom’s quest for absolute power may have brought him to a version of Ghost Rider, though inMidnight Suns, he encounters Knuckles O’Shaughnessy.
A yet-to-be-explored history between Doctor Doom and the Spirit of Vengence could definitely be shown in the MCU. However, it might not happen inDoomsday.
