However, this act might be something new and surprising for anime-only fans of Jujutsu Kaisen. So, if you wonder what makes Geto go to such lengths, then the answer is simple - the consumption of spirits has everything to do with his Cursed Technique.
The First Time We Saw Suguru Geto Consuming Curse Spirit
In the first episode of JJK season 2, the scene began with Geto strolling along the street when he suddenly detected an ominous aura emanating from a dark alley. Intrigued, he moved closer to investigate and came face to face with a horrifying sight, witnessing aCursed Spirit devouring human flesh. Without hesitation, Geto swiftly banished the spirit, causing it to transform into a small, blue orb. Seizing the opportunity, he instantly consumed the orb in a single gulp.
However, as beautiful as the orb looked, Geto revealed that it tasted horrible, comparing it to a cloth soaked in vomit. But despite going through such a horrible experience, Geto revealed that he was doing everything to save humanity, but how does Geto consuming Curses help him save humanity?

Why Suguro Geto Consumes Curses In Jujutsu Kaisen?
Geto is the user of one of the strongest Cursed Techniques in the series, popular by the nameCursed Spirit Manipulation, an innate ability that makes him stronger than most Jujutsu Sorcerers. While other sorcerers defeat the Cursed Spirits by killing them,Suguro Geto consumes the defeated Cursed Spirits, adding their Cursed Energy to his own, making him bit by bit more strong with each spirit he consumes. This continuous practice made him so strong that once he was compared to the prodigy sorcerer Gojo Satoru himself. Furthermore, if a Cursed Spirit Manipulation user defeats another of his kind, then he can also get access to all the Cursed Spirits that they have consumed.
Once the curse is consumed, they are technically added to Suguru Gato’s insurmountable weaponry, and he can use its power whenever he wants. While most sorcerers depend on a handful of Cursed Techniques, Suguro Geto can manifest any number of techniques, depending on the number of Curse Spirits he has absorbed. Although this might sound a bit cheezy, and Geto might sound like a supreme being, if Geto faces a really menacing Cursed Spirit, then his powers might not be enough to defeat that spirit. So, basically, his power depends on how strong spirits he has consumed. That said, till this time in the series, Geto has only been seen climbing the ladder of power, and his current power level is far beyond what we have seen in the anime adaptation.
