The Gojo Past Arc ofJujutsu Kaisenkept its spotlight on Suguru Geto and his transformation from a dependable Sorcerer to a sinister antagonist who’s ready to put everything at stake to annihilate the non-sorcerers. His evil actions escalate to the point of mercilessly killing more than 100 innocent people just because he felt that non-shamans didn’t deserve to live, and there’s no point why Sorcerers would fight for them.

Now, with the release of the new episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, we have stepped into the Shibuya Incident Arc, which is still considered one of the greatest arcs of the series. And the fans will not only be surprised by the drastic turn of events in the forthcoming episode, but the fact that Geto is the mastermind behind those plans will be the real surprise. In the first episode of Shibuya Incident Arc, Geto continues to fascinate the fans, however, something’s changed about him. Obviously, his aura is evil, and he has teamed up with Mahito, but there’s more to it; his looks have changed, and he clearly looks different. But why so?
Significant Changes We See In Suguru Geto
Mechamaru is revealed to be the one who betrayed the Sorcerers and delivered some crucial information to the Curses regarding the Sorcerers and Jujutsu High. And who are the guys to whom that information has been revealed? Well, who else but Mahito and Geto. Yet, this iteration of Geto is a far cry from the familiar figure we once knew.Draped in a traditional Japanese kimono-like attire, his hairstyle has undergone a transformation, forsaking the man bun for a unique arrangement, with some hair flowing freely. The most striking alteration manifests on his countenance – some clear scars and stitches now adorn his face. On top of that, the way he talks and his personality also seems to undergo a clear transformation. These visible changes not only redefine his appearance but also hint at a profound shift in his character.
Why Does Suguru Geto Looks Different?
So the main question that arises now is, what made Geto change his appearance all of a sudden? Well, the guy we currently see is not Geto; yes, you heard that right.Instead, he is Kenjaku, a Curse user from a thousand years ago, who has now taken over Geto’s body. By taking over, we mean that the real Geto is dead, and his body is possessed by Kenjaku, who turns out to be one of the primary antagonists of the series.
If you haven’t watched the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, then you might wonder when Suguru Geto died, who killed him, and why and when Kenjaku took over Geto’s body. Actually, the incidents of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 take place after the Gojo Past Arc and before the Shibuya Incident Arc. After Geto turns against the Sorcerers, a massive battle takes place between Geto and Yuta Okkotsu, where the former underestimates the latter, and Yuta, with his Curse friend Rika, almost kills Geto. Although he escapes on time, he is later found by Gojo, who then kills his best friend with his very own hands. However, Gojo forgets to dispose of Geto’s body, a mistake that costs a lot to the Sorcerers in the future. As a consequence, Geto’s body is taken over by Kenjaku, whose innate ability allows him to possess anyone by transferring his brain to them. That’s the reason why there’s a big scar on Pseudo-Geto, aka Kenjaku’s forehead. So, the guy we see at present is not Geto but Kenjaku inside Geto’s body.
