Toji wasborn with a heavenly restriction that didn’t allow him to wield any cursed energy.Even with theincredible blessing of strength, speed, and overall prowess, Toji was still looked down on in the Clanand eventually left and changed his name. After leaving the Clan, Toji eventually found a wife and had a son, Megumi.

Why Did Toji Abandon Megumi

After Toji’s rough childhood, thanks to his family, hegained a very bitter outlook on the clan and Jujutsu society as a whole. This would ultimately lead him down the path of becoming the Sorcerer Killer to show Jujutsu Society that he doesn’t need cursed energy to be strong and respected. Despite this rough outlook on life,Toji did have a heart for his son and wanted him to have a better childhoodand life than Toji now lived.

While Toji continues to be the Sorcerer Killer, hewants a better life for his son and sees that he is blessed with the powerful Ten Shadows Cursed Technique. Toji ultimately sold Megumi back to the Zenin Clan, hoping they would accept Megumi back with open armsthanks to his potential and Cursed Technique. Toji’s wife would die shortly after Megumi’s birth, and Toji knew raising Megumi would now fall to him. While Toji is a bad person in general, his act of giving his son away was out of kindness, as he knew he would be a bad father, and being raised by the Sorcerer Killerwould only lead Megumi down a similar dark path. Toji would also eventuallytell Gojo about his son in hopes ofGojo becoming a better teacherand mentorthan he would have been for Megumi.
