Jujutsu Kaisen has taken a political turn since Geto reached the United States, with his goal being to build pressure on the sorcerers internationally. After showing the president and other US officials how threatening Gojo and his associates are, they agree to plan out their capture and run a test on them.

Last time on Jujutsu Kaisen (chapter 201)
The US president and the officials discuss the abduction of the Japanese people. The president resists doing it, but then he is told that even a single sorcerer could produce enough energy to make them independent and solve multiple problems. Cyrus then says that they can’t allow China and Russia to go ahead of them.
Geto says that November will be a good time to abduct them as they will assemble at that time. The president is worried about other countries attacking the Japanese people if their secret gets out. They then talk about Gojo, and Garry asks if he is an exception among the sorcerers. Geto agrees, but he says that he will seal him in November, so he won’t be able to move.
Geto recommends deploying a battalion of 800 personnel to fight the sorcerers, and Gary laughs at him, saying that Japanese people are timid and weak. Geto then tells them to run a test to maneuver the strength of Jujutsu Sorcerers by fighting the team of elite soldiers. Soon the officials notice all the soldiers flying in the sky, and a giant curse that looks like Ganesha from Hindu Mythology appears outside. They then believe in Geto and decide to go with his plan.
