John Cena has his doubts about NFL legend, Rob Gronkowski.
Rob Gronkowski is back and he is more determined than ever. The former New England Patriots tight end will once again try his luck at Fanduel’s Kick of Destiny 2 during Super Bowl 58 and attempt to make a 25-yard field goal. While the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will be battling it out on the field for the Vince Lombardi trophy, Rob Gronkowski will be fighting for a chance at redemption.
Unfortunately, one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry is not on Gronk’s side – John Cena. The wrestler-turned-actor placed his bet on Rob Gronkowski missing the kick. Of course, this did not sit right with the NFL player who has a warning for John Cena, in case he fails to make the shot.

During apress conferencefor the ‘Kick of Destiny 2,’ Rob Gronkowski opened up aboutJohn Cenabetting against him in Fanduel’s event. It looks like he really took Cena’s actions to heart as he has officially sent out a challenge to thePeacemakeractor. If in case Gronkowski misses the shot, he will be taking his rage out on Cena, that too in a wrestling ring in one of the upcoming WWE events.
Gronkowski stated,
“If I miss, I’m gonna have to take it out on him. I’m gonna have to probably see him face-to-face in the ring at Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, whatever it is. He can call the shot. He can call the shot, one-on-one vs. him. That would be a battle, man. That would be fun as well. I would take it on. I would do it.”

While Cena is a professional wrestler and has defeated many big names and is a 16-time world champion. Clearly, he knows his way around a ring. However, the Gronk, too, has some experience with wrestling. He once won the WWE 24/7 Championship back in 2020. Well, we don’t know if this would be enough to beat someone who is considered one of the best in the industry.
Why Did John Cena Bet Against the Gronk?
During the press conference, Gronkowski revealed why Cena might be playing the antagonist in his life at the moment. According to the former football tight end, Cena really wanted to perform the kick in Gronkowski’s place but Fanduel refused to comply with his wish.
“Yeah, John Cena, he’s really going against me. He wanted the kick, but the executive of Fanduel said, ‘No, you’re not doing the kick.’ I busted through the door and told John Cena, this is my kick. This is my Kick of Destiny. And he got all mad at me.”
Well, if this is what really went down, it’s obvious that Cena would be holding a grudge against Gronkowski. We will find out soon enough if the Kick of Destiny 2 turns out to be fruitful or not. If not, fans better get ready for a Cena vs. Gronkowski duel!
