Yes, maybe this is the equivalent of documentary cinematic eye candy. However, since when do we hold that against a filmmaker’s talent for the aesthetic?

That being said,Jim Henson: Idea Manis worth watching because it’s a snapshot of an artist who pushed the boundaries of representation in America. While an argument can be made that this love letter to Kermit’s creator lacks substance, the counterpoint is that Henson’s death at age 53 was so early for a man who accomplished so much that he may have never lived up to his full potential.
Still,Jim Henson: Idea Manquickly displays the artist’s lasting impact. Ron Howard’s film provides an intimate and poignant look at an American original. The documentary is never short of entertaining and always enlightening—just like the man himself.
