One of the most highly anticipated projects from James Gunn’s DC Universe is the upcomingBatman: The Brave and the Bold. There have been many iterations of the famed Caped Crusader in the past, some of them remarkably good, but this newest version promises to offer something new as well as correct the mistakes of yesterday.

James Gunn’s DCU Will Bring BackBatman’s Robin

James Gunn’sBatman: The Brave and the Boldis a fresh new take on the character, so fans can assume that Ben Affleck or Robert Pattinson will not join the project. Interestingly, the movie will most likely follow Grant Morrison’s comic book narrative ofBatman and Son.

This will center on a much older Bruce Wayne and his kid Damian which also opens the possibility of seeing multiple Robins. With this information, it already fixes one huge mistake from the past franchise.Zack Snydershockingly confirmed that Dick Grayson is actually the dead Robin inBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

This revelation was one of the most talked-about parts of the film as it had the potential to brew many great story arcs between Batman and Robin. Since the character never had its origin tale under the DCEU, it would have been the perfect chance for an introduction. Gunn’s decision to announce Robin’s appearance in the upcomingBatmanmovie finally redeems the mistake made under Snyder’s legacy.

Most of the films in the past struggled to fit Robin in their narratives, hence opting to omit him from Batman’s story altogether.Joel Schumacher’s version almost had an authentic portrayal, though he carelessly chose an adult actor to play the role, thus making it difficult for fans to view Robin as an adopted son.

Interestingly, Snyder planned to introduce Carrie Kelley as Grayson’s successor. This never went off the ground, but since the late Grayson continued to be a significant part of the story, Snyder’s version of Kelley would most likely become the comic book-accurate version of Robin on the big screen.

As perVariety, The Flash directorAndy Muschiettihas been tapped to helm the project. Gunn told the outlet:

“Andy’s affinity and passion for these characters and this world just resonates through every frame. So, when it came time to find a director for ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ there was really only one choice. Luckily, Andy said yes.”

The Brave and the Boldhas no attached writer as of yet, though it is going to be a huge responsibility now that it will feature the first live-action movie appearance of Robin since Chris O’Donnell’s portrayal in 1977.
