Fury of the Gods will be the first of four films to release outside of DCU. The film will release on August 03, 2025, and it will connect"reallywell"withThe Flash, set to release on June 16th, 2023.As previously rumored, Ezra Miller’s The Flash would reboot the entire DCEU, thus laying the foundation of DCU. The consequences of Barry’s actions in the upcoming film will allow DC Studios to introduce a new slate of films and TV shows. Gunn said he really loved The Flash and that it’s"one of the bestsuperherofilms"he has ever seen. However, there’s no confirmation whatsoever that Ezra Miller’s Flash will exist in the new universe, so it’s unlikely that Ezra will be the speedster in the DCU continuity.

After that, we’ll get The Blue Beetle on August 18th, 2023, before moving toward Aquaman 2, which will actually lead directly to the beginning of the new DC Universe with Superman: Legacy. However, that may not be the end of Momoa’s Aquaman, as Peter Safran has teased Aquaman 3 by stating at the event that Jason always thought of"Aquamanasatrilogy.“The actor is also rumored to play Lobo in DCU continuity, but Safran confirmed that Jason wouldn’t be playing two characters. Regardless, as reported by Screen Rant, the studio might reach a decision based on The Lost Kingdom’s performance when it comes out in December 2023.

Apart from this, James Gunn also announced DC Elseworlds, a universe that"willrunoutsideof the mainstream DCU continuity.“Matt Reeves' Batman trilogy, Todd Phillips' Joker: Folie à Deux, and the Teen Titans Go TV show will exist under the Elseworlds umbrella.
