In an appearance onThe Late Late Show with James Corden, the host asked her about working on a vintage truck, which she was remodeling all by herself.
Acknowledging the fact,Sydney Sweeneyexpressed how she got into it, before adding how much work had been done up until that point.
I’ve been working on a 1969 Bronco. I’ve completely changed the transmission, changed the front-rear axle, converted it from drum brakes to disc brakes, and I’m changing the entire interior.
Initially resistant to the idea, theImmaculatestar confessed that her passion for being a car junkie happened due to“tough love from mom.”
She went on to share how she got into remodeling cars.
When I was young, my mom only let me drive a manual. I wasn’t allowed to drive an automatic. When I got my permit at 15, we were driving down the road and she told me to pull over. I said, “Why?” She said, “You have to change the tire.”
She added,
She kicked me out of the car and wouldn’t let me get back in until I changed the tire. I was screaming and crying, saying, “You’re the worst mom.” I had to change the tire. I fell in love with cars. It was like a hate relationship that you slowly appreciate.
Despite her initial disapproval, she got into the quest of car restoration and mechanics, thanks to her mother’s insistence which became an interesting hobby for the actress.
It is something that she truly enjoys, which in return, provides a space for her to engage in something independent of her acting career. Not only that, but her mother also helped convince for not to opt for br**st reduction surgery.

In an interview withGlamour UK,the actress gave an optimistic statement on body positivity stating,“Flaunt what you got. Own it. Love them.”However, she was never this confident about herself, admitting that she, too, just like anyone, went through handling insecurities back in her school days.
When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my bbs were and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a bb job to make them smaller.
She was convinced to undergo reduction surgery but it was her mother, who advised her, to not rush into making permanent changes to her body.
My mom told me, ‘Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college.’ And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends. Everybody’s body is beautiful. When you are confident and you’re happy within is when it really shows to other people.
Sweeney eventually took her mother’s advice, later embracing herself with pride. Since she advocates for body positivity, it serves as an inspiration to others facing similar pressures to fit into social beauty standards.
