TheOne Piecechapter 1118 spoilers have once again brought a big shock with them that may not be well-liked by the fans of the Pirate world. The chapter has introduced an unexpected twist that could change the entire narrative ofOne Piece, especially focusing on the characters of Luffy, Bonney, and the mysterious Joy Boy.
TheOne Piecespoilers have revealed that Jewelry Bonney might also have the powers of Sun God Nika. Although it was initially hinted in one of the previous chapters,One Piecefans did not believe that Bonney would become the full-blown representation of the mythological deity that could change the reality of his surroundings based on their own comfort.
While this is indeed a big revelation,One Piecefans are not too happy about it, as they believe thatOne Piecemay never be the same after this, and some fans even expressed disappointment with Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series, for altering the character arc of Bonney.
Bonney Taps Into Nika’s Powers
The spoilers ofOne Piecechapter 1118 gave a lot of details about the upcoming storyline of the series. Initially, the chapter focused on the Iron Giant being defeated by the Five Elders and then sinking into the sea. However, even though he was drowning, Dr. Vegapunk’s message was still able to broadcast just a little bit, giving more hints about the Will of D.

Later on, the chapter reveals that Luffy and the group have managed to reach an Elbaf ship and escape from the island. But as soon as they inform the other members of the crew, Saint Marcus Mars, one of the Five Elders, attacks the ship, which forces Luffy to once again engage in a battle against him. However, this time, he is not alone.
As he is about to go fight Mars, he asks Bonney to join him and help him in defeating their opponent. Initially, Bonney hesitates but as soon as Luffy turns into Gear 5 and expresses his belief in her,Bonney uses her ability Distorted Future, and turns into her most free self which looks exactly like Luffy’s Nika(Gear 5) mode.

Bonney tapping into Nika’s powers is one of the biggest twists theOne Pieceworld has ever seen, but it is hated by fans, and they have some pretty valid reasons for it. Since the beginning of the series, the central figures of the story have been the Straw Hat Pirates, and now Bonney is gaining one of the biggest power-ups, taking away the spotlight from them.
Many fans believed that they might get to see a new power-up or a shift in narrative for the other Straw Hat Pirates like Zoro and Sanji, butEiichiro Odashifting the entire attention to Bonney, and that too at the climax of the Egghead Island arc, has disappointed them.

- it was set up, but not good. Bonney‘s importance and her drive for finding nikka only began with this arc. So it wasn’t fluent2. G5 is so great in the first place because it embodies everything Luffy is. With her getting it, it is like any other regular transformation.

In my humble opinion, Law using Corazon tecnique is an example of a similar concept but actually done right, and i think it boils down to how genuine and real Cora and Law relationship felt compared to Luffy and Bonney, which i find shallow and underdevoleped, especially 1/2

Nika’s powers in the form of Luffy’s Gear 5 made sense as he was the protagonist and these powers were his unique trait. However,One Piecefans feel that Bonney copying Luffy’s abilities is not good forOne Pieceas a story or Bonney as a character.
