One of the greatest successes for Blizzard was definitelyOverwatch, but not so much forOverwatch 2; back in 2016, it seemed that the game could not go wrong. But after several mistakes made by Blizzard and its team, the once-popular game was losing all kinds of attention from the players.

They even made their ownOverwatchLeague, with fans being very passionate about it. Two months ago, the league was dismantled. But Blizzard just made a deal with the EFG (ESL FACEIT Group) and has brought back eSports toOverwatch 2.
A Very Good Deal for Overwatch 2
Blizzard’sOverwatch 2did not begin in the best way possible, but it seems that the team behind the game is betting on new content and new possibilities. Blizzard just closed a deal with the EFG (ESL FACEIT Group) to launch theOverwatchChampions Series. A new era for this game seeks to include anyone who wants to be a professional eSports athlete. This new eSports conglomerate will be international.
TheOverwatchChampions Series will bring players from all around the world. The key regions will be Asia, North America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. The North America and Europe divisions of the OWCS will be run by the EFG. As for the Asia part, it will be organized by the WDG, the Korean eSports tournament organizer. Every region will have its own schedule and qualifying tournament.

The DreamHack Festivals will be the selected locations for the two North American prime-time events. The finals will take place in Stockholm in November. TheFACEITplatform will provide an environment for the amateur community to grow and expand.
They also host third-party tournaments forOverwatch 2. This will be a new era forOverwatch 2eSports, according to Craig Levine, co-CEO of ESL FACEIT Group.

Overwatch 2 Season 9 Will Bring Many Good Changes
For the moment, Season 9 ofOverwatch 2has no official release date yet. But according to the team behind the game, this season will bring a rank system more transparent than ever. This new feature is called the competitive overhaul, and with every loss and win, your rank will update automatically. It is very similar toValorant‘s system. This overhaul update will introduce a new rank above Grandmaster; it will be Ultimate. So competitive play is about to be dialed up to eleven.
Another new mechanic will self-heal the Tanks and DPS roles in a passive way. According to director Aaron Keller, this will make both roles more independent and last longer. This will be part of a bigger change in roles in general. For the moment, the skins for this season’s battle pass were not revealed, but sure, we have a Mythic skin as always.

Overwatch 2is already available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

I’m a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
