In 2019, before the release ofFord v Ferrari,Bale sat down with Matt Damon for an exclusive interview with GQ magazine. The two stars talked about anything that came to their minds, but the conversation mainly revolved around their iconic roles and stunts going wrong.

Not Christopher Nolan, Another DC Director Deserves the Credit For Christian Bale’s Final Moment as Batman
Christian Balementioned how in one of the scenes Bale’s Batman had been knocked out and was slobbering. Bale stated,
I did that. I had some saliva coming out of my mouth. And Chris [Nolan] went, ‘Maybe not.’ And I was talking through the point, like, ‘Come on. It really would be good to have this.’
The act did not sit right with Caine and decided to shut off Christian Bale’s absurd improv to the character. He added,
Then Michael overheard it and he went, [Michael Caine voice] ‘Dribble? Dribble? you’re able to’t bloody dribble, you’re Batman, ain’t you?’ It was like, ‘Alrighty. Wipe up the dribble.’
Clearly, Bale was not going to question the decision of his legendary co-star and believed it was fit for him to step back with his improv for the character.
