She starred as an overwhelmed journalist who sees ghosts in the ABC sitcomNot Dead Yet,which is back for its second season on 7th February.The actress also took on the role ofa New York sports writer inPlayers.

After finishingJane the Virginin 2019, Rodriguez decided to collaborate withNot Yet Deadcreators David Windsor and Casey Johnson. The Chicago native, who also executive-producesNot Yet Dead,said of the series onNBC News:
“When I got the script, it made me laugh and cry; it made me think about how flawed I am and how much growth I need to keep working on, and how you’re constantly evolving and shedding. I just found that to be really relatable.”

Based on Alexandra Potter’s bookConfessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up, the comedy series tells the story of Penelope “Nell” Serrano (played by Rodriguez), a 37-year-old who calls herself a disaster.
She moved to London for her ex-fiancé but returned to Southern California and her old job at a newspaper.Assigned to write obituaries, Nell realizes she can see the deceased—and they offer her advice from beyond.
