Fans were enraged not because of her contrasting opinion, but due to her cruel remark aboutDonald Trump‘s supporters. Supposedly directed toward states where the majority supported the Republican party, she commented they deserved to face one of the most horrific natural calamities.

This is why some of y’all states be getting hurricanes.

The artist did not directly name the voters or associated states but just hours before her post another news had been released. Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and North Carolina’s results were speculated to be favoring the Republican candidate.

These states are also known to face recurrent hurricane occurrences so theI Like Itcrooner’s quip seemed to be directed at these voters. Although free speech and personal opinion apply to all, fans did not appreciate the heartless sentiment.

The consequences: Cardi B’s connection with the Democratic leader

Cardi B also posted about needing a ‘hail mary’ aka, a miracle when Trump was surpassing Harris in major key swing states. She had also delivered a moving speech for Harris’s rally in Wisconsin (via Variety).

Just like Kamala Harris, I too have been the underdog. I’ve been underestimated. My success, belittle and discredited. Women have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better…

Earlier she was even criticized byElon Muskfor her bold speech and for reading off of a script. The X CEO called her a puppet but the Drip rapper did not back down (via Buzzfeed).

I’m not a puppet Elon.. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their a*s off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you…

It is clear that Cardi B is vocal and determined when it comes to her opinions but her unthoughtful remark did put her in hot water. Fans did not appreciate her inconsideration for hurricane survivors and victims.
