The November Community Day is here and this time the focus is on the Electric type Shinx and thus its two evolutions Luxio and Luxray, so we are wondering if Luxray is good inPokemon GO.
Shinx originally made its debut in Gen IV, so it is very fitting that it is the focus of Community Day on the weekend thatPokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearlreleased for Nintendo Switch.

What Is The Special Community Day Move This Month?
By evolving a Shinx into a Luxio and then a Luxray during Pokemon GO’s November Community Day, Luxray will learn the exclusive Charged Attack Psychic Fangs.
This is the Pokemon GO debut for Psychic Fangs, which is a Psychic attack with 40 damage and the ability to lower the opposing Pokemon’s defense in PvP with 35 charge energy.
When it comes to gym battles and raids, Psychic Fangs will instead do 30 damage to the opposing Pokemon. The question is, will this make Luxray good in Pokemon GO as a rule.
Is Luxray Good in Pokemon GO?
Unfortunately, the answer to this question is like many of the Community Day Pokemon, which is no. Luxray was not really a viable Pokemon to use in PvP prior to this and Psychic Fangs only makes it a little better.
According toPvPoke, there are only two Cups at all that Luxray even ranks in the top 100 Pokemon that should be used, which is not great.
In the Great League, for instance, Luxray is ranked #259, while it is #230 in Ultra League. It’s highest rank in the basic Cups we see pretty often is #123 in Master League, but that is specifically for the XL version that would be very difficult and taxing to build.
Luxray is ranked a little higher in some of the special versions of Ultra and Master Cups, but only one is really viable. Luxray is #117 in Ultra League Premier Classic and #139 in Master League Classic.
The only one that Luxray is actually pretty high in is the Master League Premier Classic, where it is ranked #41. However, Master League is very difficult to build due to the high levels, so it’s still not the most viable.
What’s The Best Luxray Moveset in Pokemon GO?
While the answer to is Luxray good in Pokemon GO isn’t a great one, you could still build one for fun if you really want. In that case, the ideal moveset would be.
Since Psychic Fangs is one of the moves to have in the best type of Luxray to build, it’s definitely worth trying to catch a bunch of Shinx on Community Day to make it much easier on you Candy wise and to make sure it has the exclusive move without having to use an Elite Charged TM.
