Despite the controversies around it,Helldivers 2has made quite a bit of a name for itself. But is that enough to warrant a release on Xbox consoles?
Will Helldivers 2 be joining the Xbox catalog soon?
At the time of writing this article,Helldivers 2hasn’t made it to the Xbox catalog and is unlikely to become available on the console either. The game is currently playable on Windows and PlayStation 5, and players were recently coerced into making PSN accounts, which was the reason for those Eagle 500 Bombs on Steam.

Users even began petitioning to bring it to Microsoft’s Xbox. It was in April that a rumor began spreading in the air that there were some talks thatHelldivers 2might be coming to Xboxfollowing some preliminary talks about it.
For now,Sony isn’t likely to let go of the exclusivityof the game for the sake of petitions alone. However, players must not lose hope for it, as it is not like there is a zero percent chance for the game to arrive on Xbox. But it is very unlikely.
Will Xbox’s Steam integration bring Helldivers 2 to the console?
Unless PlayStation decides otherwise, apotential Xbox-Steam integrationis the only way Helldivers 2 is coming to the console. It’s a massive business opportunity and would reach a wider player base too.
Helldivers 2became PlayStation’s fastest-selling game with 12 million units sold. Who knows, it could do the same on Xbox. Over the past few months, the sentiment of bringing this game to Microsoft’s console has drastically increased. In fact, from a gameplay perspective, if the title does make its way to both the Xbox Series X and S, then completing Major Orders would be significantly easier.
There is a chance thatHelldivers 2may never come to Xbox, which also translates to players having to switch their console from Xbox to PlayStation. It’s a personal choice, however. Xbox players with gaming PCs might not have to deal with this issue at least.

It’ll be interesting however, to see how PlayStation responds to the Steam integration on the Xbox. Since they’re so caught up on the platform exclusivity trope, they could just risk alienating their entire player base if they stop pushing games to Steam.
The only way to solve this challenge would be to launch a PC-specific PlayStation storefront, which is unlikely to happen soon. So, for now, Xbox may end up having the upper hand. It’s rather unfortunate thatHelldivers 2is caught in the crossfire though, because it truly is a title that everyone should be able to access.
